Congrats on being that guy.
By many accounts Ben was a total A-hole in his younger years (weren't we all), but this is a completely different man, now.
Do you believe in redemption/rehabilitation?

Exactly! Show me a guy just out of college with millions of dollars handed to him that doesn’t make bad decisions?

Im happy to be that guy...you say that like it is a bad thing. In some cases yes I do. But I think sports fanatics give a pass to easily to sports stars.
As far as redemption goes....I wrote him off along with most professional athletes long ago because they think they are somehow more important than "regular" folks. Just like movie starts. Guess what, if they stopped playing our world would not change a lick. Their job is not even close to being important.
So yeah, I'll gladly be that guy.

I think there are PLENTY of good role models in sports. He just does not happen to be one of them.

Nothing you said was incorrect. I don't want my children looking up to people they don't know as role models, and no they're not important. Fun to help occupy some time and for some a matter of civic pride, but not essential by any means.
I'm just not sure how Ben is a "looser" now... earlier in life yes, but he certainly seems to be winning nowadays. It sure looked that way after the Monday night game.

Correct !!!
People change over time.
Young people make stupid decisions. Young people who have lots of money and women thrown at them make even more stupid decisions
But people learn and grow over time

Ill grant you I know nothing about the man now, I suppose it is possible to make up for fucked up things you have done in the past but when you fuck up other peoples lives with bad mistakes and are still able to go on with your life with no repercussions that does seem balanced to me. He may have straightened out his life but not sure he has paid any price for the fucked up things he did.
I often wonder if he would have even been playing if old man Rooney was still running the show instead of the kids.

... Reckon that IF it was olden times and old Art Rooney

Not as often as I used to because the NFL sucks. A bunch of overpriced assholes who think they are more important than they are.

You do realize don't you that Ernie Fats Holmes remained on the team after shooting at a police helicopter that was pursuing him. Old man Rooney and the Steelers helped him get off with no jail time and kept him on the roster
