Thanks for the notification of the spelling error - Others can say whatever they want yet when I retire in 6 years with early retirement will have roughly 100K in my saving and another 100K in the 401K account at work. Different things in life make us happy and not bashing the next individual, going to bed at night knowing that I do not have a whole lot of bills or material things to pay for and money at hand if needed makes me happy.

I damm sure think so, will be traveling to SE Asia, Panama and CR mostly and will not have any bills. SS will be paying 2400 a month. Spent 20yrs in the Navy and had time to put away some money and the retirement check comes in every month now. One does need a fancy car, house or apartment to be noticed or eat out everyday to see if they can meet someone. Turn into Cheap Charlie and it is amazing the money that one saves in life

Tornado, post your questions in Shreveport or east TX. You'll catch less crap over there, and don't let people give you shit, do you bro. I do admit some of the questions you post over here make me go "WTF", I also see your posts over there. Keep your chin up and keep on trolling

The SS and I'm guessing military pension are good but $200k isn't much at all for savings to retire. To be safe, especially since you plan on traveling, I hope you have met with a financial advisor.

Thanks for your feedback and it is appreciated. Yet if a man can not live off what was mentioned then he should sit down with a paper and pencil and see just what bills that he has and get rid of them for he will not need them when retiring. I can see a place to live when he is here in the States and a car which should already be paid for long ago.

Totally agree. Have worked with a few guys that first retired in the military then the civilian world and moved out of the country. They saw many great places during their service where they can live like a king with a fraction of the money they'd require in the US.
