You know, it's funny... on several occasions I have heard people who were discussing Fawn mention an "old bat". That must have been why.

Screening is your most effective defensive weapon IMHO, and as Ive had to start shopping for rotation replacements I've been shocked that no one has even checked my 411 OKs.
I do strongly agree on earlier points, 1) REALLY work at learning to use it 2) don't advertise it.
One more thing I recently learned - the sweet steel retractable batons can NOT be legally carried other than in, and to/from your home & your vehicle.

Ona serious note. It is common for someone to have a weapon taken from them and then used on them. If your going to have a self defense weapon, gun, knife, bat, what ever, get training on how to properly use the weapon. Last thing you want to learn is how to take the safety off when some one is rushing you.

maybe I can borrow the weapon to unplug the shower drain at Reese's outcall when she is in that "special room". Is it long and pointy?

Good Point!
I stopped carrying a knife and never would carry a gun for the simple fact I did not want it turned on me.
I've had training, but you never know when you are placed in a situation when it could be turned againist you.
I wont lie, I accidently shocked myself because I forgot to set it in the off position.
It hurt LOL
Its the safest choice for me, plus I dont trust myself w/a gun and my temper

non lethal alternatives are good advise. Keeps things simple and less legal hassle.
Tazer
pepper stray
collapsable battons
baseball bat
your high heels
then there is always the nut grip?
List your idea's.

Screening is most definitely the best defense!
If you do end up in a bad situation, in my opinion you want something that will give you the advantage of the few seconds needed to flee. Pepper spray is a great option. A taser is not bad but requires pretty close quarters so is more risky. Even a gas-powered air horn can be an effective mechanism to stun your attacker and alert others that something is up. Stun-and-run is by far the best and least risky option. Guns are bad, bad news unless you're willing to kill without hesitation and deal with all the hassle that's going to rain down on you as a result. If you kill a known felon, you might be ok. If you kill someone with no record, a family, and a good job who happens to be an unreported closet psycho, it's your word against LE and you could end up with serious prison time.
A knife, or even a bat, is no match for a thrown desk chair, end table, lamp, bedspread, etc..
To all the wonderful ladies here... flee, don't fight. The men who might do you harm are cowards in the light of day. Attract attention and/or get yourself out the door and they will scurry away and hide back under their rocks. Stay safe.
Just my $0.02...

I would always carry pepper spray disguise as a lipstick and one that was a pen.
I also have a taser disguised as a cell phone and a regular high voltage taser of course. lol I'm a little OCD about my safety. I'd figured if anyone get's out of hand I would pepper spray first. Take out my taser and taser them while they were squirming from the pepper spray. Taser, spray, taser, spray, kick in the balls. (repeat)
..........................I never got the opportunity to use any of them.
I am thrilled that taser are legal in Texas.
