After reading this thread, I went and lurked in the chat room.

Yes the pictures are annoying, some are very nice and I always openly say they are nice, because they are, but my god. We get it, you are beautiful.

Saw some mean people come in and spur venom. Im puzzled there, but okay.

It is nice seeing people I have not spoken to in awhile in there. Hi Jamie :-)

Finally, ladies should speak to the ladies or aleast say hi, I don't go in chat to shop for clients, I go to omg.......CHAT! you have the provider ads and weekend line up to advertise. Call me jealous, but I go to the chat room to chat....do I have it wrong?

No lisa.lisa you have it right. Chat is usually great and you get a chance to see some personality from all those involved. I can say that there have been a few get on my radar because of chat but definitely NOT because they tried to get on my radar. Often it's a great place to flirt and then chat a little. I had a great private chat with Lana last night while the board was being overrun by overzealous guys and gals. Hell I'm a recent newbie and it was getting on my nerves .. can't imagine how those who've been here a while felt.

People need to remember that it's basically a public place and what ever you say there or connect in conversation there is observable by anyone who wanders in. Lately Everyone ... well not everyone... has been a little free in there which is usually great and enjoyable but some Light Encouragement to keep it modest in the open might be necessary.

There is the option of private chat as well which is great and allows you to connect more personably. Although I'd say to make sure you connect in the real chat before trying to connect in the private chat. Lately, Every so often, I get pmd in there by someone I have no idea who they are... I am going to stop carrying on private conversations with people I don't know or whose behavior in the open isn't becoming a person I'd want to be seen with in the open.

But with all that I'd add... I sure enjoy flirting in there and getting to know the ladies. Inuendo can be fun. Plus, chat has been a good resource for me too to get advice and recommendations from more seasoned hobbyists.

Yea, it has gotten wayyyyyy out of hand in there. I don't even like going in there much anymore and when I do, I don't stay long. I'm just waiting for the ax to fall. If that behavior continues, it's going to fall hard. And I'm not talking about from the mods either.

Can we PLEASE bring back the good ole days where folks had manners and ladies had respect for themselves?

I know I'm getting older and probably less tolerant for bullshit but I've never been one to tolerate bullshit anyway but this is pathetic.

Although it's definitely more focused in chat, that seems to be the case everywhere. I've poked my head in chat a couple of time - was greeted with a screen of garbage - and left. Too busy to run a constant rubbish filter in there. Maybe I've just "lucked out" and hit it at the wrong times. Then I cone out to the forums and it's all fired up over something or other. Most of the time I leave. When I think I can do so without being in a drama-fest I post. But as I've heard said numerous times by people whose posts I enjoy reading that they don't post for the same reasons. So while we can say "let's all play nice", the majority of "nice players" avoid the situation.

And we arrive here.

On a serious note, there need to be several active chat moderators if you want to have rules/civility. Without that, it will never happen. Having run boards/chats in the past trust me when I say there have to be people who can give people the boot. Chat is not like a board. You have to handle it differently.

I am not sure that's possible with this software, but it should be.

They have one, but he's not in there much. But I agree with you.

But unfortunately such things as respect & manners are becoming extinct these days...so I've been noticing...

Lesson Learned......... Flirt but watch what you say & to whom you say it to. Some ladies are just to sensitive about their security and i can respect that. I have also been asked several times where i am at, and never thought twice about telling her where i am.
