[QUOTE=i'va biggen;1056884592]As usual the JL, and judy dense are ramping up their rhetoric of the destruction of the USA.[/QUOTE
The "destruction" as you referred to it is already coming out of Washington. The United States is more than land it is a set of ideals and ideas. Your small mind cannot understand that like any major power the US an disappear into the history books. We can be destroyed by someone from the outside like Russia, China, or ISIS. A country can also be destroyed from within. You don't really care. You just want to shut. Have you ever taken a stand on anything in your life?

Nice choice of words there Assup. It's funny how on one hand you're showing your support and on the other you use a slur to discribe them.

It's always amusing to watch the simpletons discuss secession anytime something happens that gets their panties all wadded up. The pseudo-patriots who are always telling us how much they love the US and how those of us that ideologically disagree with them hate our country and blah blah blah. But, look who the first ones are that talk about cutting and running when things aren't going their way.
Texas would last about six months or so after seceding before descending into chaos. Think about it. No border patrol. No FEMA when a hurricane or a tornado blows a town down. No air traffic controllers. No national guard. No postal service. No federal funding for highways or traffic safety. No federal funding for education. No social security checks for the millions that currently received those. What currency would we use? What would back up the currency. Banks without federal guarantees for depositors? What would happen to the military bases? How about San Antonio losing Fort Sam Houston, Lackland, Randolph Air Force Base all in one day? Think that might crash a local economy?
It's idiotic and it's never going to happen.
Oh, and by the way, it's illegal as well.

As your favorite Supreme Court justice, Scalia said this year, the Civil War answered that question.

I thought you and a couple of others had more brains....I guess I was wrong. Then again you're pathetic response does reveal that you are ill equipped to be a pioneer of sorts. I can see you 200 years ago in Philadelphia wondering where you're going to get clean water and proper closing in the west.

All this means is the United States has the law on their side. If a State wishes to break that law and attempt to secede, the law gives the USA the right to invade, conquer, and force them back into the Union.
But if that State won the war, to the victors go the spoils. But no State has a Army, Air Force, Navy, Marine Corps, or anything to match the military might of the USA.
It would be Brother against Brother all over again. And Americans proved in the previous war that they can be very good at killing one another.

To correct a typo caused by my Kindle (damned auto suggest), the word I was looking for was "clothing" and not closing.

Are the modern liberals afraid that Texas would succeed without their draconian federal control?
Would they bomb us like a desert Muslim with their drones to force us to appreciate the freedom of the United States?
Would they trade freely with the entire world, including Cuba, but ban trade with us?
I don't see anything in the Constitution that could stand in the way.

Haha, Mexico would fricking take back Texas the day after they seceded.

You have to stop thinking in terms of north and south (I know you're not Jackie but bear with me). This will be more like the south, the west, and the midwest. Where are our military bases at? Kansas=Army, Missouri=stealth bombers and Minuteman missiles, Texas=navy and army, Mississippi=navy, Arkansas=army, South Carolina=marines, Georgia=nuclear submarines, special forces, Kentucky=armor, Nevada=the skunkworks, Utah=what the hell does Utah have?, South Dakota=missiles, Nebraska=SAC, anyway that's for starters. What does New York have? Pennsylvania? Massachusetts? Delaware? California=now that is a rub because California is actually three states (north, south, and east) The north kicked out their navy and air force so that leaves the Marines, Navy, Army, and Air force in the south and east. How about raw resources?
What does New York have? trees, homeless people, people with rhythm and great taste in clothing. How about Northern California? trees again. I suppose that Oregon and Washington will go with the fascists so they will have more trees, coffee shops, and some navy ships. How about Illinois? A single air force base that has been shrinking every year.
No, I think the energetic states will reach out to establish the United States anew and reaffirm the Constitution as the law of the land.

All that Federal money comes from each state, to the Feds, and then back again - so they can control us.
You really think that absent interference from the fascists in Washington that Texas, with all of its oil and seaports, couldn't sustain itself?
Currency is the biggest problem.

If any states decide to secede in any way, shape, or form then it will be because of a preponderance ills heaped upon the population by DC. It won't be just one.
We've discussed secession before many times on this board and the idiots on the left always come on out with the same tired cliches. Grey uniforms, Confederate flags, and slavery again which just show how incredibly stupid they want to stay. A new secession will start with lawyers, lots of lawyers creating the boundaries of a new country. Then there will be the political poker game of how far will by opponent go and how much can I bluff him. If a country is allowed to stake a claim then will come the PR phase when the left will demonize the new country and their intent. They will try to activate certain groups to "rise up" and rejoin the Union or at least cause enough problems that the new country can't function or more likely, try to get the new country to take draconian measures to restore order. Then the Union can put troops on the border (ala Russia) to "save" those who want to stay in the Union. They will have already dispatched special forces types to rally and train the instigators in the new country (false flag?). The Union will test the water by taking back a couple of border cities to check the reaction. The Union will not have it their way though. There will be many in the Union that will want to move themselves to the new nation (that is the purpose of the PR campaign by the Union, to discourage this by saying the new country is evil or illegal). There will be many in the armed forces who will refuse to take up arms against peaceful citizens. Obama has been trying to winnow out the generals and top commanders who would do this by retiring them but they would have to be put in "isolation" to prevent their public comments or worse, have them join the new country.
In the meantime, our enemies in the world would not sit on their asses watching. Putin would finish off the Ukraine, China would move on the Philippines, North Korea would go after South Korea, Venezuela might decide to take a chunk of someone to distract from their troubles at home, and ISIS....they will love this situation.
Not because of gay marriage or the Confederate flag but because of a host of transgressions committed over the years and the fear of future actions taken against American citizens.
As for the legality, Jefferson said that against tyranny a people have a right to rebel. Even if that tyranny is in Washington DC. You know, I wonder which side Clinton (Bill) would go to. The side of freedom or the side that forces him to stayed married to the Hildebeast.
|
You're still an idiot.
So let me broaden the challenge.
Name one state where the majority of people are willing to secede over ANY issue (not just gay marriage) or any COMBINATION of issues.
There isn't one. NOT EVEN TEXAS.
