Given the frequency of these types of Posts, but Wildcat, you sound very sincere and eloquent, so I will express my sincere compassion for your friend's unfortunate tragedy, and thank God she has friends like you. I know even with insurance, we all need help putting things back together. The Red Cross is a good suggestion, as well as the local United Way Office and local Churches. I give substantially to United Way for how it helps good people in unfortunate circumstances.

If she has a house and it isn't paid off then she has to have insurance.

By someone begging for items for her I am assuming she is renting it. If she owns it and doesn't have insurance she falls in the category of do stupid things, win stupid prizes.
