Not sure how you misunderstand what “Whataboutism” is but whatever.

Direct comparisons of similar times Obama’s last year vs Trumps first year aren’t much different. In fact I’d say Obama’s last 3 compared to Trumps first 3 are similar as well. That doesn’t suggest Trump made some massive turnabout. It suggests the flow of trends or whatever you wanna call them remained steady. The stock market being the only one that increased more sharply. Now compare Obama’s first year and Trumps last year and we see what both people faced with adversity achieved. I suspect if your honest Obama’s numbers look far better.
