Dallas Cowboys go 14-2? Care to make a hobby wager on that remark? And oh the 3 for 3 at the end of the season??? Now thats a bold prediction.

Yes I bash the Boys that wear the star. I think the US Constituion gives me that right. So if you dont like what I have to say about the Cowboys, dont read this.

Jerry Jones is a franchisee for PaPa Johns here in the DFW area. And yes I have a group of competiting restaurants and I will put my units against his group anytime.

The Boys have a long proud history, but its history and the players like Emmit Smith cant play the game any more, so they have to rely on the present group. From the Boys QB to their offensive line, to even their receivers, they are not capable of winning a championship.

So its that time, yes I hear it, its its its:

Turn out the lights the parties over......

Default While Bob has properly assessed the schedule...

...a couple if his "other" points are OFF...
Yes Its a tough schedule, thats partially due to the success of last year (NFL formula pits interconference games against previous year like-finishers)...
The point of an inconsistent offense is also overblown. Felix Jones/Marion Barber/Tashard Choice is arguably the BEST three deep RB squad in the entire league, and with the addition of Dez Bryant the passing game should be improved as well...and the "weakening TE situation"...while we did lose a good NO 2 TE canidate with the Phillips injury, BUT we DO still have a Gentleman Named Whitten that fills the position Nicely, and Martellus Bennet still has some nice upside...
The Main issue for the season, IMHO is obviously Health...especially on offensive line...our starting O-Line is above average in most respects with one exception of not having hardly any depth....so more than one O-Line injury could be really tough...2nd issue seems to be Defensive Secondary, namely the safeties...We need a someone to step up at that position...If Buehler is servicable at Kicker, (remains to be seen), The Boys will be awfully tough with a Stout Defense...
I have one question for you Bob....while I certainly dont mind some criticism of the Local NFL Squad....I do often deal with it with this question, "so who is your team?"
I dont have much time for those who bash the Cowboys just because they dont like all attention they get, or think their image is overblown, or that J JONES is a simpledon who cares ONLY about making $$$....THESE criticisms SMACK LOUDLY of Jealousy....

I do think your 10-6 prediction is not too far off base...with 11-5 possible with above average health...
There is NO Doubt that the schedule is BRUTAL.....

I was born and raised in Houston and was a die hard Oiler fan. I attended oILER GAMES starting in 1960 when they played at old Jeppensen Stadium that was on the University of Houston campus. I have an old photo of George Blanda and I along the side line as they played the Buffalo Bills. I watched the Oilers through back to back 1-13 seasons, and was there when Earl Campbell ran all over the Miami Dolphins in what was called the Greatest Monday Night Football Game of all time. It was sad to watch the Oilers leave town for Nashville, but I became a Titans fan and look forward to their game here in Dallas.

Having had to watch the Cowboys because they were "America's Team" was hard. The Cowboys won, the Oiler lost. But I am a true fan, and just watching my team play is enough to brighten my spirit, if they win thats great, if they loose, there will always be another game.

But with the Cowboys, their fans are quite fickle, and the local media is no different.

Jerry Jones sold his idea of a new stadium creating economic development was a terrible use of public funds. Oh the city of Arlington has increased its sale tax revenue, but the new stadium certainly wont create an economic boom. Look at the Old Cowboy Stadium that was in Irving. You had vast amounts of undeveloped real estate, major freeways (183, 114, and IH-35) for easy access, yet that area never fully developed. The area around the new stadium will be much the same. Oh there will be a few hotels built, and restaurants will come and go. But for the most part the dream of increased development will not happen. If you travel around the US and look at other sports venues, the areas are pretty much vacant. Stadiums do not help for development. So you see Jerry Jones is having fun at the taxpayers expense.

So will the Boys go 10-6, I hope not. But I am realistic and see them making a run, only if they stay healthy and the defense is as good as it looks.

Default Predictions...

BigBob...who are you FOR? You have made two posts after I asked you this question and still no answer. Are you just afraid to admit the team you root for?? Say what you will about those of us who are Cowboy fans but at least you know who we stand for and who we are.
Yes, the Constitution gives you the right to say what you want. No one has told you that you don't have a right to your opinion.
All I keep reading is blah blah blah from you.....stick your neck out there big boy...tell us who your team is!!
Nobody has played a regular season game and you wanna call it over for the Cowboys. If you are that damn good at knowing the future, why don't you buy a winning lottery ticket and retire?
OH good lord, I express pride in the Cowboys past...but in NO WAY did I imply that their proud history will help this team, since nothing matters except what this team does on the field. Yet somehow you try to imply that any Cowboy fan is relying on the past to indicate success this year....although you seem to enjoy implying that logic against them; i.e. - how many years it has been since they won a playoff game before last season. You can't have it both ways, Big Bob. You remind me of the spin doctoring that comes out of the White House every week....

So I will ask you again, what team are you FOR??

GolfTx I guess like many Cowboy fans you only read and hear the stuff you want to about your Boys that wear the Star because if you look in my last post especially the first paragraph you will notice this:

I was born and raised in Houston and was a die hard Oiler fan. I attended oILER GAMES starting in 1960 when they played at old Jeppensen Stadium that was on the University of Houston campus. I have an old photo of George Blanda and I along the side line as they played the Buffalo Bills. any other questions?

The Cowgirls will crumble due to the OOOOsoawful line. Say bye bye to Red Jesus, he gets exposed more than a webcam hoodtard.

I have never liked the Cowgirls. Never. The only time I cheer for them is when they play the carpetbaggers in TN.

When I picked up my large unlimited toppings pizza and a two liter Pepsi for $10.99 from Papa Johns, I grabbed me a couple of refrigerator magnets with the Cowboys schdule for the year. I am ready for some football!

Cookie Man, did you know that the dough used on PaPa Johns is made at a commissarry, frozen, and the delivered to your local restaurant. It might have been made two to four weeks before being thawed out by a kid that makes minimum wage and is too lazy to rotate the product. Yuck, might as well eat cardboard with sauce and processed cheese. At least we make our own dough and use fresh cheese. But like your taste in pizza, you also have a taste for a specific NFL team, too bad your taste in both is very bad.

GolfTx you are a gentleman.

Back on with the discussion:

Papa Johns is just one of many businesses that will never see me as a patron as long as that grinning, jackanape, Arkie, Jerky Jones benefits in any way from their stupidity of using him or the Cowbags to shill their product.

Aw, I am so sorry for your bashing, oops, my bad...uh, loss. But hey, its pre-season, right?

I think BobbyBoy is just pissed off because his Oilers left Texas. Well, you know what they say...there's only room for ONE Champion Team, and apparently...his Oilers weren't it.

Oh, and BobbyBoy? No turning the lights out yet sweetie, this party ain't over yet. So, sit back, relax and get used it. Why?
Da'Boyz boys are back, Da'Boyz are back, Da'Boyz are back in town!! ....that's why!

Go Cowboys, Go Cowboys, guh guh GO COWBOYS!!

Bob if you had really wanted to be funny you would have said I should eat the refrigerator magnet instead of the pizza...lol. I will say you have been consisent over the years in your Cowboy bashing/trolling. Not even Bum Phillips' son coaching the team could garner some of your support.

My taste in teams. I was born in Dallas and have been a Cowboy fan since my daddy told me that this was a football. I went to games at the Cotton Bowl, had season tickets at Texas Stadium, and suffered through all sorts of spare players and coaches. I have great memories over the years of friends and family gathering around the tube cheering on 'daboys'. So you must understand that dishing the Cowboys before the season has even started is just simply unacceptable. However if you enjoy it so much then dish away. If they don't win the Superbowl, then you are right. Meanwhile it's always an emotional roller coaster with those guys...part of the fun.

Go Cowboys!
