That last part would be of concern to me as a website owner

You can still use the advanced search funtion in the member list to find all females in OK or a specific city they list as their location. Not as good as seeing the forums but you can see the member list but no reviews in Oklahoma. Reviews of OK ladies in other states still show up

Use a good VPN and problem solved.

I know at one time we got into a conversation with the Admiral about the site tracking to the MAC Address but that's like CIA Eric Snowden level stuff.

VPN's are not perfect by any means. And the best ones are going to cost some money. Even the TOR browser setup can and has been cracked. And many sites block VPN's. But, it s better than not using one at all

Packet sniffer and a few hours of training and anyone can read you MAC address. Its not that hard at all. More of a matter of is it worth the time for someone that is not paid?

Obviously the Feds have the skills to do it and are doing it to capture the UA Predators/Posters and Computer Hackers.

Once they get the IP they have to go to the ISP with a Court Order to get the owner of the IP and then get a Warrant for the PC and that MAC Address.

I could see someone creating a DB with MAC Addresses and Board User Names, but if not being paid to do it F that.

Local LE with limited resources cannot see them doing this.

The question is with AI I could see this becoming a two click process in 3-5 years.

I worked for support at Microsoft years ago. We learned how to break down a packet all the way to the MAC layer. Its really not hard at all. Later I even taught how at a community college as part of some technology courses I gave

Never forget where you live. You are still in the Bible Belt.
We are also still in the infancy of the internet technology age and what it will all morf into is anybody guess. (Get a Time Machine go back in time and talk to the smartest of people in the Industrial Revolution and no one going to predict internet, smart phones, etc etc).
At it relates to sex and sexual oriented business, the use of the internet in the age old profession is kinda fascinating if you think about it. If you are old enough take that Time Machine back to yourself at age 15 sitting in your bedroom whacking off to a playboy mag and explain that one day you will be sitting at a TV like device that you can bring up way better images and videos for free! It’s kinda crazy if you think about it. Over time free porn won’t be a thing but that is another discussion (and actually a good thing due to it current over exposure to minors)
Use of this relatively new technology for the escort sites is one that I’m surprised hasn’t gotten more attention before targeting review boards. I guess the services offered online on these sites are vague enough maybe, paying for time not sexual activities but still I figured would be targeted with stiffer laws before review boards similar to straight DOJ take down like they did with the internet gambling sites on Black Monday. Problem prob is just too many of them out there to do this I think.
Anyway, back to topic at hand on this thread…
This site is engaging in explicit mention of those activities. Unlike the escort sites and there is not as many of them so makes for an Easier target. It’s out there black and white not like the escort sites that are more vague in terms of what is going on.
So given that perspective yes it’s clear what is going on and why sites like this now getting attention.
Eccie has to cover itself now by adhering to these laws, not worth risk in Oklahoma. Makes sense. Which Bible Belt state is next? Yeah maybe ours with these copycat lawmakers. Who knows. But don’t be surprised when this or something like this happens in or around our area first because of where we live. You won’t more open minded progressive non-bible thumping thinking you going to need to move.

Oldbutstillgoing has summed this up for us. Two words stand out to me: “convince” and “assignation.”
Of course the law is broad, that’s by design. That plays to LE’s favor to arrest first ask questions later. Making an example of a monger only requires being accused. After you fight it out in court you’ve already lost your SO, tons of money, your family (because they saw your name in the paper) and maybe your job.

If it comes to Texas this hobby is over.
