Twisted Root opened a location in Roanoke I would like to try. Tried the one near SMU and it was just as good.
Pappas Burgers is another I like. I enjoy trying different burger places.
JPdM - In n Out is great because of how fresh everything is served. If you like fries they literally go from being a potato to fries in a few minutes. Some places will press their fries locally but they still sit waiting to be cooked. They don't press them until they are ready to go into the fryer.
The burgers, to me, are like Kincaids in that they are simple. They are so fresh it is hard to duplicate for the price.

We could start another discussion about Pinks. I am yet to find a good place for a dog here in DFW.
Is there a 5 Guys between Euless and Frisco on 121? I get to journey up there this evening. Good burger and a BJ on the way home. What a night!

There is a Five-Guys in Southlake Town Square near the new Hilton.
Just because In N Out is great in California does not mean they will execute the same here in Texas. Different vendors that supply the restaurants and new restaurant staff will make things difficult for this chain.
Five Guys is a hit now, but they are making classic mistakes and they could go the way of so many other chains.
The restaurant business is tough right now. Taxes and wages and food costs are making it difficult to make a profit.
Whataburger is a Texas brand and they use fresh meat and make a great product.
Smash Burger is also up and coming, but will people pay $10 for lunch for a burger?

shit, whataburger sucks ass! it may be decent to those that have lived in Texas their whole lives or havent experienced much food out of the state.
I will grant you time will tell if the In-N-Out experience in Texas will be like what I use to experience in SoCal, but I have a feeling they wont allow their burgers to lose their standards since they have so much of a good reputation.

We all like different things, and burgers are no exceptions. Whataburger is unique in the quick service restaurant business. Whataburger not only raises their own beef stock, they also have a farm for their onions. Whataburger makes a very good product. It remains to be seen if In N Out can duplicate their restaurants and the way they do business here in Texas.

bob, have you ever eaten at In-N-Out? because I have and I have also eaten at Whataburger, and there is no comparison and not even close. Whataburger makes some good Onion Rings and Applie/Cherry pies and their breakfast isnt too bad.

The times I have eaten at In N Out I wish I would have gone to Wendys. Most overrated turd on a bun ever invented.

In n Out has been able to duplicate their product over CA, AZ, NV, and UT. I think they know what they are doing. I fully expect an In n Out burger to taste the same way as the one I have in Tucson, Vegas, Provo or San Diego.
I can say that about very few chains. McD is one of the few. Luckily for them their quality is so low it isnt hard.

Raise their own beef or BS on the claim, their burgers are not "fresh". They freeze their meat. Anyone who knows meat knows you lose flavor when frozen. I have had burgers all over the country and I will only eat Whataburger as a last resort.

Pappas and jakes in fort worth are my favorites. For drive thru whataburger is not bad and you can usually find one open late. Is in and out sit down like papa or more fast food like whataburger?
