Removing government (taxpayer) benefits of any kind should be the top priority, then cracking down on employers. Doing just those will lead to a mass exodus, then ice can sweep up the remnants.

You're not only absurdly wrong (as anyone who follows the economic data knows), but you're way off-topic. I don't want you to get pointed, so I’ll ignore your complete ignorance of real-world economics.

Now back to the OP:

Interesting read that does give a fair shake to how Trump's 1st term deportations were different from his predecessor and his successor...
I don't trust the numbers in the CNN article, and I call bullshit on the claim that "President Joe Biden’s administration has kept pace and deported a similar number of people as Trump’s."

See bar graph below. Deportations were way down under Biden, even as border encounters & known getaways skyrocketed. Deportations only went back up to match Trump's level this year, when Biden had to pretend to voters that he was tough on the border.

Are you aware that when Biden first took office in 2021 he ordered a 90-day freeze on all deportations? What a dumbfuck move that was. Even Mayorkas opposed it.

Wrong question.

Assuming we agree on the numbers, why do libs and Dems condemn Trump's border record as "racist" - and not say Obama's HIGHER deportation totals make him an even BIGGER racist?

It’s true. Mexico will be extremely wealthy due to their Silver deposits. They’ll run back home.,

Evictions isn't even part of the convo, Waco. Lusty is at least trying.

Lusty, the deportation numbers are known. 2.9 million in term 1. 1.9 million in term 2.

Trump's were at 1.5 million at the end of term 1 when he promised to deport more people in history and didn't even come close.

The biggest differences... family separations, rhetoric about immigrants and the focus on making immigration harder for legal immigrants, including the very process he used for his in-laws AND his wife.

Make no mistake, Obama was not loved by large swaths of immigrants. He was criticized by both sides of the aisle, actually... with many detractors on the left for his immigration and border policies.

Him looking out for Dreamers was an example of an olive branch to those on the left, and an overreach by those on the right.

Look, this is why our previous thread discussions died. I invited you to put forth your best metric(s) for gauging success or failure in securing the border. So we can have some objective yardsticks that apply to everyone. You declined and told me to figure it out myself.

If you eyeball my bar chart, you can see the totals are roughly half of what you just cited as the "known" deportation numbers. Here's where my chart comes from:

https://econofact.org/immigrant-depo...ds-and-impacts

What frustrates me is that the estimates of how many illegals have flooded in under Biden are all over the fucking map. From 5 million to 20 million.

How do we arrive at an approximate accurate total?

Encounters + Known Getaways + "Asylum" Applicants + "Parole" Program Fly-Ins - Deportations?

You tell me. You're the one who has posted dozens of links on the issue.

This isn't about securing the border or border encounters. It's about deportations. Apple and orange.

You're using a slice of data taken from SU TRAC (https://trac.syr.edu/) and that data only looks at ICE deportations (actual ICE removals), not immigration court deportation orders. Which is why your numbers are low. Deportations are tied to a court order.

Expulsions are not. The majority of encounters lead to fairly quick expulsions with no court date.

The majority of deportations take years because they require a deportation order and for other avenues that may delay deportation to run thier course. If ICE moves to deport, but you have a court case with an immigration court, that's held until your court case happens. And in many cases there is other relief. But we're focused on deportations, so I won't go there.

Self-deportations don't factor in. Those are voluntary departures. A deportation is involuntary.

And despite any pauses, Biden's total numbers are fairly on par with Trump's. Ironic. The guy shouting for deportations the most was fairly milquetoast on that front, did it slapdash, separated family's and didn't specifically target the kind of MS-13 folks he whined about because he let Miller and Cucinelli just go ham elsewhere instead of focusing on targeted enforcement.

COVID and Title 42 helped Trump keep encounters low... Biden relied on that as well to drive expulsions. But those aren't deportations.

And the number you're looking for is likely 11.9 million. Total.

So, fuck yeah get those AMPs closed, legalize prostitution and keep the money here.
That's all well and good, and I'm totally on board with legalized prostitution, but you assume just because AMPs might get deported that we're on our way to legalized prostitution. Lol. You assume wrong. One has nothing to do with the other.

A racist, wannabe fascist POTUS deporting AMPs is 1000x more likely to happen than him legalizing prostitution is.

Oh, so pussy from an independent provider is somehow a better choice, or "less illegal"? Last time I checked pussy was pussy, be it from an AMP or some other place.

Just confirming that If you're paying for it, you'd prefer to pay a tax on top of the fee for use?

I prefer to not have to pay the government for approval of my vices regardless, but will concede that regulation does have some purpose in providing saftey in the workplace. That's the way they sell regulation of almost everything in the good ol' USA isn't it?

Relative to deportations- I'd prefer that if you overstay your visa, you've got to report to immigration within 30 days or face an immediate and permanent removal from the USA. Further, if you are caught here without ever having a visa, you're immediately put in detainment and exported back to your country of origin and not allowed to come back ever. Breaking immigration laws is not to be tolerated at all. I am fine with visas, and sanctuary seekers, who come here and register. But unless you do that- you're fucking crying to the wrong ppl, and you are leaving for ever. Simple as that.

Lol - I'm with you, eye.

Except I would go a step further and implant a non-removable apple tag between the buttcheeks of all asylum-seekers, TPS workers, visa holders, etc.

That sure would make ICE's job a heckuva lot easier, dontcha think?

And we wouldn't have to worry anymore about the astonishingly incompetent DHS losing track of over 320,000 unaccompanied minors, would we?

It's going to cost $10,000 PER PERSON to deport.

There are an estimated 20 million unwanted people who they are going to deport.

Where is all that money going to come from? Who's going to be operating the concentration, I mean internment camps?

But more importantly, who are they going to get to fill all the low paying jobs that these unwanted people do?

It’s beyond me why anyone who claims to care about the country can make excuses for why people who came in illegally shouldn’t be thrown out. If Biden/Harris didn’t fuck things up so badly, on purpose, we wouldn’t have this problem. Think of all the schools and hospitals and other infrastructure we could be using the money on, but nope, we’ve gotta clean up the democrat’s mess instead.

Cons weren't gonna use money on those things, either.

Viva deportations. He better make solid progress. He's got no excuses this time to be worse at one of his key issues than Obama

Heaven has strict immigration laws. Hell has open borders. Round up the people here ILLEGALLY. Send them back. They’ve created enough havoc here. Trump will send them back.
