It has come out that one teacher at Sandy Hook elementary was a former Marine and another was a National Guard Officer. Neither was armed that day...school rules you know.

Actually, Jimmy Carter sent Amy to a public school. Of course, she had armed guards, but Carter was trying to set an example.

Jesus, Obama is making me nostalgic for Jimmy Carter!

But it is nice that the rich have the choice to send their children to private schools. It's not so nice that they deny that choice to most of the country by refusing to provide vouchers.

But the evil rich are the ones we're protecting, aren't we? You people that think government is on your side amaze me.

Please name one politician who is on record of stating a desire to "strip us of our right to keep and bear arms." Certainly there has been a great deal of talk of some limitations of the right to keep and bear arms, but you make it sound like there are politicians trying to ban all arms.

Would appreciate you citing a specific article.

How did Columbine work for you? There was a armed guard there.

That's anecdotal. One instance of an armed gaurd failing to prevent a killing doesn't prove anything. By that logic we should have stopped providing Secret Service protection for presidents after JFK's assassination.

We'll never be able to prevent all gun killing of children. It's not a perfect world. All we can do is take sensible action to minimize risk.

Here is one politician, there are many others; including Bloomberg, Emanuel......

And we know for decades the politicans in the District of Columbia were against gun ownership and the 2nd ammendment; they eventually were taken to court and lost..................

And your "Loud Pipes Save Lives" theory does always work; but you think it makes so much sense that you tout it as a signature..........how is that working for you ?

Rosie O'Donnell sent her two adopted children to a gun free school but she sent them with an armed guard.

I know that in my school that there is at least one veteran in attendance with a CCW permit.

Rosie is a perfect example of the "some pigs are more equal than others" principle.

As a gun right's suupporter; I would be ok with an excise tax on firearms and munitions to pay for training and licensing of armed teachers/administrators/employees in our school districts........let Texas pay for texas and NY can opt out.

In fact, give an employee a salary bonus (incentive) for maintaining trained skills and armed while working for the school district !
