20 babies got wasted by an assault weapon in the hands of a possibly crazy person, and that OPENED the eyes of the entire world. Compared to what could be on the table the proposed legislation is mild. Regardless (exactly) what becomes of said proposal, you can bet something is going to happen... 20 dead babies is and absolute guarantee

Personally, I think most of these shooters are disenfranchised. Find why they are so and you'll be able to intelligently and effectively combat the problem. Guns don't kill people; people kill people.

‘‘Federal Aviation Reauthorization Act of 1996’’.
TITLE III—AVIATION SECURITY
SEC. 301. REPORT INCLUDING PROPOSED LEGISLATION ON FUNDING FOR AIRPORT SECURITY.
and then ...
White House Commission on
Aviation Safety and Security

That wasn't 20 babies ..... it was 230 "babies" to someone.
Then doing something about it .... afterwards ..
...there was 911 ... around 3,000 or more "babies" of someone!

Ah, The Slippery Slope.....
Listen, gun faggots, why don't you wait until you are bitten before you squeal?
IF there is really a "slippery slope" that will lead to whatever undesirable end you "think" or hallucinate, then there will be plenty of other opportunities to head it off at the pass.
If these things that some of you are "sure" will happen begin happening, then you will be able to fight against those things (and have a lot more help) should they really begin to occur.
Like it or not, it's still a pretty far leap from these current proposals and EO's to the ATF showing up at any actual law abiding citizen's door asking for ALL weapons. Hell, as it now stands, they couldn't even ask for "assault" weapons.
So, why don't you squealing little girls unlax, take a chill pill (and a deep breath), pay attention and see if any or all of the horrible things that are, at the moment imiginary, begin to materialize. I'm sure that if they do, the NRA and F-O-X will be johnny-on-the-spot to clue everyone in.

It must be damn difficult since Assup has access to the interweb.

ACLU is gonna have a field day ....
.... with the "mushy" subject of mental health detentions!

Like N.O.W., the ACLU is an arm of the Democratic Party. I don't see them stepping up to the plate in this instance.

it is yet another to put names on a "mental health" list from an integrated listing of patients' records who have visited a physician or psychiatrist and obtained depressiion medication or some other mood modifying prescription drug.
Are you familiar with the "no fly" lists?
Now you want doctors to decide who gets a gun and who doesn't?
|
Where to start. Didn't Obama have a couple of US Citizens killed without due process? Didn't he refuse the courts' requests to explain how those people arrived on a "Kill list?" I know I don't have a constitutional right to fly but what's the bar for inclusion on the "no fly" list? Last time I saw, it was pretty low and the standard to get your name off the list was pretty high if its even possible.
Doctors don't want anymore govt paperwork to fill out. Or be held liable because they did or didn't recommend an idiot who went off. If you discounted everyone who ever had some type of psych prescription I doubt 10% of America's women could own a gun legally.
Most of those 23 items are window dressing. It took 20 kids being killed to nominate an ATF director? The govt can't share information they should be sharing? Ridiculous.
That's in the bill Obaby's proposing?

It will out of sheer embarrassment ..
"Issue a Presidential Memorandum directing the Centers for Disease Control to research the causes and prevention of gun violence."
"gun violence" is now a "disease"!
We will soon have a "gun violence" vaccine!.... mandatory by the 3rd grade!

Please describe how any of these new regulations would have prevented Sandy Hook from occurring.

No, genius, because I can spot a dog with teeth and a bad attitude. And, I'm sure as fu*k not going to poke it with a stick. You, on the other hand, are probably arrogant and stupid enough to do so.

It would have resulted in a pre-attack self-destructive mood that would have eliminated the threat before he materialized ... out of sheer frustration over the monotone.
