There used to be a nude beach at Smithville Lake that had to be accessed from the East side. I haven't heard any discussion about it in years. Does it still exist?

Some of the KCMP pools are now open. I saw South Holmes, just South of Redbridge road was open this morning.

Google says that Heartland Cove is an “unofficial nude beach,”;as of 2018.
I might have to go take a look..

Float trips are nice. Over the years I have passed the 1000 mile mark on float trips on Missouri streams. Several years ago the "party cove" had LE visits and the party went down to Bennett Springs . The motels LE and Float trip, canoe renters really got upset about the nude bathing on the float trip. LE was known to hide out in camouflage with radios to pick up those with who went nude in the rivers.

Several of the other streams followed with their own LE stings.

The attitude was strong for family and children's support for river trips. Nude for river trips was not recommended.

Source was from Sand Springs Motel at Bennet Springs and the local Sheriff from there and Red Beard camp, and several canoe rentals I knew. and other Sheriff Depts. and canoe rental for other rivers.

Problem: It could have changed, but I doubt it, because I have not been on the rivers in 5 years. Just too damn busy to get away. I used to bed on the rivers every summer for many years. Too bad I got so busy.
