RL, this will be of interest to you also.
The only reason why that M&G garnered any attention was because participants were stupid.
If you have a M&G, treat it just as that: a social mingling. Do not discuss business or do anything illegal.
The only reason why there were arrest at that M&G was the parties takenin had prior warrants. Nothing for what happened.

Geez. I wish people would get their crap straight when posting some link and not do it for the drama quotient.

RL, I think you've got a few of us hobbyists and providers thinking. BioMed hit the proverbial nail on the head when he said it is just a group of consenting and like minded adults enjoying libations in a social setting. I certainly don't see a problem with it. When framed in that context, what's the harm? Adults are adults. Adults eat and drink, often together.

We're just like-minded people out for food, drink and friendship, nothing more...at the party. One thing else about a M&G is a chance to meet people on neutral grounds with no obligation to either party. That way, we can all decide if we want to contact and pursue anyone we met afterwards.

I'll let yall in on something... back in March, I put together one in Biloxi. Granted, it was a small gathering but we had fun and met a couple of ladies that later on I was able to have fun with. It also brought several of us closer together and made communications so much easier as we all had met and socialized.

I've always heard about meet and greets and how fun they can be, however not sure if I would actually attend.

If I did, I know a certain buzzkill provider I wouldn't want to meet or be there (if I ever were to attend such a gathering).

I think this is a great idea, not only interacting with others who share your interests, but it also benefits everyone regardless if your marketing or researching

1. 1st Half Mascarade - secrecy / mystery secured
2nd Half - those who feel secure enough can remove their masks

2. Ladies invite Gents - authenticity secured

3. Safe Public Location (something where a M&G would be normal) for Plausible Deniability

Not sure how well #1 would be recieved but you never know.

Had a provider say the same thing about the ladies doing the inviting.

And #3....ABSOLUTELY.

That first suggestion sounds HYPOTHETICALLY good, just so long as the event was held at maybe a private residence large enough to accommodate all expected to attend or securing a soft site large enough this HYPOTHETICAL gathering. But let's be honest, there's no need to gild the lily. It's dinner, drinks and socializing. Reserve a private dining area at a nice enough restaurant and the only thing left for this HYPOTHETICAL event to do would be a matter of invites.

Yup, that's one of the benefits of a controlled M&G - people who are known to be divisive are not invited, nor do they have any information about when and where it will happen.

I have been to M&Gs in several geographical areas and in private homes and in rented rooms. The less visibility the event has, the more flexibility is possible. I attended a M&G way north of here in a private apartment where it was possible to have some BCD encounters. That worried me because it was in an apartment complex, but there were no issues. I've also attended a M&G in a meeting room in a hotel. It went well, until alcohol influenced some people's activities, then the hotel staff became a bit nervous. The M&Gs we had in MS (Coast, Hattiesburg, and Jackson) were all held in public places and, with a couple exceptions, everyone acted appropriately. At one, a well known traveling provider showed up in a fuck me dress, which drew some unwelcome attention. In another, a male member was much too obvious in his attempts to get a lady to see him NOW. Both can be avoided by making it clear what the rules of attendance are.

I really think M&Gs are a great way for members of our hobby to meet each other, but they must be restricted to attendees who are vetted.
