Is this a testament to your having lame accountants? The President used laws ~created~ in part by Biden, then he goes on stage and derides Trump for using the very laws he created to his advantage (like any person with firing synapses would). Sad.

I never said anything about Mr. Trump's taxes were illegal. That is a matter that will eventually be resolved by the courts. I did say that I highly resent that he apparently pays almost no federal income tax despite his supposed wealth and lavish lifestyle. The US has had a theoretically progressive income tax structure for years, but the loopholes afforded the super wealthy allow many to circumvent. Maybe all the Trumpites here are super rich, in which case I get your stance. Somehow , I doubt that thought. The effect of a super rich avoiding income tax is the the not super rich bear that unpaid share. Tax regulations need dramatic reform to spread the pain across all. As Willy Sutton said when asked why he robbed banks: "Cause that's where the money is".

DPST's -Trumps taxes do matter -Because trump is 'illegal' from the moment the EC gave him the 2016 election.
and you care nothing about the tens of millions of dollars of corruption of the Biden Crime family - because it is 'Your Crime family".
Efing hypocrites!

I avoid taxes as much as possible and you want me to be pissed because someone else does the same? Do you not take every legal exemption? Kudos to you if not, that’s righteous, but I believe in making my own decisions about my finances.
As far as “spreading the pain”, if that’s what you really want, then taxes on the wealthy need to be lowered and those of the middle/lower incomes need to be raised. Your thinking on who actually pays taxes to the federal government appears to be 180 degrees from reality.

Jacuzzme, I never said taking deductions was illegal. I am saying that it galls me greatly to have someone that is a Great Patriot and extraordinary businessman, contract the virus despite every protection that can presumably be availed him due to irresponsible actions of his own accord, then sponge free healthcare at a far greater level than ordinarily available, while still paying hardly any personal tax. Sorry, but you and I have been ripped off, much like his past lenders.

It's Schrödinger's Trump: The guy is simultaneously "lying about his wealth and is a broke-ass business failure" and also "incredibly wealthy, makes way more than I do, but pays less taxes"

Better go back and reread your screed. Trump paid millions in taxes....years ago. That $750. A filing fee. Go back to the original story and read the very last paragraph.

reddog is worried about things he doesnt have any real information on, but thinks trump pays more in taxes to china than he does to the u.s.- he donates his entire paycheck to the u.s.
trump has contributed his entire paycheck earned while president to various departments of the u.s. government
there is probably a more updated list of the donations somewhere
but trump donates a fourth each quarter of his $400,000 annual salary
so far the recipients have been (through the third quarter of 2019):
2017:- Q1: NPS (Dept. of Interior)
- Q2: Dept. of Ed
- Q3: HHS
- Q4: Transportation
2018:- Q1: VA
- Q2: SBA
- Q3: NIH
- Q4: DHS
2019- Q1: USDA
- Q2: Surgeon General
- Q3: OASH
