I always seem to be on the verge of getting busted by the GF. Like the weekend I spent with my ATF...trying unpack before the GF got home. The time I had a nooner and my tie got in the way and it smelled like sex (my new favorite tie). After having a late afternoon session, coming home with the smell of her perfume still on me and giving the GF a hug and a kiss (changing the routine is always a dead give away). Texting my ATF in front of the GF (who would ever be so bold). Or when the GF said "I think you have been cheating on me", I responded with "is that a question or a statement", she said "it was a statement" (she didn't really want to know).
The key is not the smells, clothes, or disappearing...it's our behavior that they hone in on. When we act different or guilty the other signs just add to their suspicions. The difference between me and most guys, I'd let the GF blow me right after having sex with someone else and I could pull it off. Not giving them at least a peck when you get home is a sign of guilt. Since I'm not guilty of anything other than giving her a temporary reprieve from sex, I'm doing us both a favor (that's a sign I need therapy, more sex, or both).
If you are a good BF, SO, or Husband...they don't really want to know! I guess if I were married, I'd be more careful since I would have more to lose. The fact that I'm in the hobby means the GF is on borrowed time.

Works every time!
"Where have you been? You'd said you be here over an hour ago ?"
" Well, being I knew I was going to catch hell for being late anyway I stopped off at my drop dead gorgeous, blond haired blue eyed, nymphomaniac girlfriends house for an hour of fantastic sex ! But I can go again with you if you're in the mood? "
....." yeah right! "...never mind.......

I called a well known provider and left a message. She called back and left one. My SO had my cell phone for an emergency and said, "You have a message" me, I'll check it when I get home. 5 minutes later she calls back and asked "Who is *******? (Oh shit) I don't know, why? She left you a message. Wrong number I guess. She called you by name. It's on my message. After a cold night, she finally believed me. Then she told me, she called the number and talked to *******, (Holy Batshit ) since we hadn't met yet, the provider didn't know what I looked like, therefore avoiding more troubling questions.
Yea, I know, hobby phone. Taken care of now. She has a phone now too.
My last hobby left me with a perfume odor. I covered that with a ciggy right before entering the house and she didn't smell the perfume. If I ever have a perfume odor, I tell her I was in a girly shop looking for a surprise gift. Always works, but then, she really wants to believe I'm telling the truth.

I bought my SO a laptop. No more sharing computers. I also use InPrivate mode on my IE browser so it doesn't save anything during my browsing session.

The worst thing is that here in Ohio they passed a new law that stops all smoking inside public places.
I hate this not because I am a smoker, but because it kills scent alibi. If the provider is a smoker and any transfer get on your clothes, you can't just say, "Oh yeah, me and the guys went to a bar and this guy was chain smoking at the bar."
Also, if a gal had strong perfume, I used to stop by a bar to make sure my clothes smelled of something else! Be aware that you should not just douse your clothes with your own cologne. This will actually make it worse as the chemical reaction of the two scents will just smell like excessive cheap, and very female perfume and my experience has always been that it only serves to make the female scent even stronger on your clothes.

If you've got the computer skills:
Knoppix - Boot Linux off a CD, nothing is saved on the computer. Even if you're not a Linux guy, it's pretty easy to get to the browser and do supersafe browsing.
TrueCrypt - Good encryption.
VirtualBox - Run an OS in a virtual machine. Can be combined with TrueCrypt for an extra level of protection. It's a little tricky to get all the pieces of your VirtualBox virtual hard disk into your TrueCrypt partition, but it gives you a lot of extra protection.
Get a separate PC and don't give her a login to your PC. If possible, put a BIOS changing password and/or a BIOS login password on it. Some desktops won't do this, but many will. Turn off the option to boot from CD, floppy, or USB drive. Create an extra account in case she needs to use the computer in "an emergency", but don't give it admin access. TrueCrypt doesn't give you much protection if the SO can put monitoring software on your PC.

When I write my reviews in a word doc before posting them, I store them in a truecrypt folder. That way I can still go back and reference them without fear of any being discovered. To someone looking at the computer the folder doesn't even exist. My SO has her own laptop so that stops her from getting on mine, but just in case....
Luckily I'm the computer person in the house and I've got the SO so scared to touch my computer that she'll barely go into the room where I keep it.

This topic was well covered on the other site. I'll offer this, you will eventually screw up on something, sometime, always be prepared with an excuse. Be paranoid and never let ANYONE know who you really are, what your tags are, and for heaven's sake don't be seen in public with these girls.
If you are going to use a home or office PC (that would be stupid), then have a MS virtual loaded on a flash drive. Other tech guys might help out here but I believe that the virtual will keep all tracks hidden from the PC you used it on.

Even with that, you can still screw up. It's possible you will get careless and leave it on one day and walk away, or forget to put a password protected screensaver on. Even with your own computer, it's still wise to use things like private browsing functions and auto deleting of history and temporary files on firefox.

Auto deleting history on firefox doesn't get rid of cookies. check your settings carefully and make sure those nasty cookies are gone also. My SO once tracked down porn sites by the cookies they left behind. They aren't as stupid as we think guys.

Unfortunately, I have "almost" been caught a few times.
Someone called on a Sunday morning and told my wife that I was "fucking whores" and my wife said "Why, I appreciate you telling me that." She then told me she had receiced her first obscene phone call and ;aughed it off.
A very young newbie provider called one evening and asked for me... I wasn't home. When I got home (from an AHC social) she said that there had been a prank call from some silly high school girl. Whew! How she got the home phone number, I don't know. I don't even live in Dallas or FTW.
Had a pizza delivered onetime from an outer that told me on Messenger that it was coming. Fortunately, I stopped the guy before he got to the door.
Just have to be a damn good liar and quick on your feet.

If you think of two hundred ways you can potentionally get caught then you're a frickin genius. However for every one way you come up with there are probably at the very least three you missed. And no matter how long your list is it will always be at least one short, trust me on this you've missed at least one, and believe me it only takes one. Regardless of how sly you perceive yourself to be you are never as sly as you think you are. Know this, every single time you do something in your life, anything, that you don't want others to know about, each and everytime you do it you are merely one step closer to someone finding out. For every "public" story you read on one of these boards about a dude getting caught there are probably about fifty guys that cared more about privately cleaning up their mess then publically telling you how it got messy in the first place. More often than not it's somebody you didn't want to find out and they typically find out in a way you never anticipated. In plain Ringlish; don't wanna get caught? don't do it! Simple enough don't you think.

Johnny Ringo is right. There are two kinds of sailors: (1) the ones who have been aground, and (2) the ones who will go aground.
