Longermonger: It seems that you have a very narrow view of what conservatism is. There are many self-identified conservatives who possess vastly different philosophies from each other.

And based on Longers posts and discussions in the past is this really a surprise to anyone? I'm a moderate but lean more towards the conservative side. I'm not a christian nor do I follow any religion. I don't know if I would characterize myself as an atheist. Although I don't believe in god in any shape or form I am open to the possibility however slight that might be. Like everyone else has said, just because you are Republican or conservative does not mean you are evangelical and I take great offense in that assumption.

"There seems to be an overwhelming conservative majority on this forum"
Does this suprise you, conservsatives respresent the largest segment of society. Your assumption seems to be that Liberals do, this is wrong, this is why they are refered to as the vocal minority. If I remember correctly Liberals represent about 30%. Guys if I am wrong on my percentage let me know, I am not going to take the time to look it up.

It must be clean living, I was reading this when a reporter just came on and said that new polls say that 40% of Americans define themselves as conservative.

I was divorced when i first started hobbying, i met someone and slowed down, but did not stop. I recently got married and have not hobby'd since, but i am slowing making a comeback. Is it wrong? Maybe, but isn't it up to me to deal with the guilt and/or my choice? I reallllly like sex and sometimes my wife doesn't want what i want, so i may or may not partake outside the marriage. Does this make me a bad person/christian? I don't believe so and i don't think my friends would as well. That's my two cents.

according to some polls conservatives read more, think more deeply, and have more education on the average. We also serve in the military in greater numbers.

It's only cheating if she lives up to her side of the stereotypical marriage bargain.
Does all the housework.
Keeps the house clean.
Meets me at the door nicely dressed with a martini and my slippers.
Has a good hot meal ready after I finish the martini.
Is a willing and enthusiastic sex partner when I want it, but doesn't nag me if I'm not in the mood.
Doesn't nag.
Doesn't complain about my bowling night, poker night, etc.

I'm single... never married... no kids.
What I do with my money is my business.
If I were married and I was doing this then I'd think my wife might need to step her game up a little bit.

Do they do all that because they are conservative, or are they conservative because they've done those things?
During the Clinton years there was a story about a large, extended Arkansas family that voted the Democratic party line across the board, except for one young cousin. When interviewed, they asked the Mom why he didn't vote the boy didn't vote for Democrats with the rest of the family. She said: "I don't know, he's always been a little different. He's the only one that can read."
Just a joke, not meant to disparage the fine educated Democrats that contribute here, and for the rest of the Dems, Hell, they can't read this anyway.

I think most single guys are looking for companionship/friend/fantasy lover...married guys are looking for sex. Our society has a hard time separating love and sex.
