Like Redleg says. There have been times that I have had one, and times that I wished that I had one, and times that I was glad that I didn't have one.
You NEVER need one till you REALLY,REALLY need one.

Great post on point, SLOBBRIN. Another swing and a miss.
And another GREAT poll by JDIdiot, worded to promote yet another knuckledragger circle jerk.

So, you don't feel the necessity to carry a firearm when you roost down at Nau's?
That's nice.

I find it hard to find any correlation between CHLs and violent crime. What state led the U.S. in reducing crime over the last 20 years? New York. And in what state is it next to impossible to obtain a CHL? New York.
In other threads on this issue, I have posted articles citing many reasons for the drop in crime rates, one of which is the issuance of CHLs, but hardly the primary one. Here are a few. I did not hand pick the articles to prove anything. The one constant -- not one article mentions the increase in CHL holders as one of the reasons for the drop in the crime rate.

Poorly worded poll options;
by "used" do you mean discharged, brandished, carried, owned?

You keep touting this phony line; NYC crime rates went down because of policing practices................more cops, harsher sentences, zero tolerance, stop n frisk...............

All I was stating is that there was little shown correlation between CHLs and violent crime in N.Y.

You might want to consider: The "leadership" in "reducing" crime might be because the crime rate was so frigging high in the first place (without a carry law) that it was possible to simply lead the reduction % with LE activity alone.
The "key" statistic is not "reducing" the crime rate, but maintaining a lower rate of incidents in the first place. An exaggerated statistical example:
A reduction from 30% to 20% is a "higher" reduction (10%) than 15% to 10%.
BTW:
There are other factors besides CHL or fewer firearms that reduce "murders."

If there are no CHL's in New York how is there any "correlation" between the two? Like cigarettes, people buy firearms out of state and bring them "home."
By your "stastical" analysis ...
....there is a "correlation" between breast feeding and addiction.

I'll take that as a "no"! And include dove, ducks, geese, and pheasant.

I've carried legally for 10 years. I've been in a few confrontations but never been in one that went to the point of having to even present. Why? Because as a CHL holder I know I am held to a higher standard and de-escalation is my first priority.
