Whatever you think of the wisdom in keeping the moniker of Washington's professional football team, it should be uncontroversial that the Redskins name and logo are protected by the First Amendment. Similarly, while I agree with South Carolina's decision to remove the Confederate battle flag from its capitol, if someone wants to drive a bright orange car with that ensign painted on top, it's his right.

All the smart people that I know definitely do not crow about graduating from Cougar High. They had to go there because they couldn't afford anything better, or they weren't admitted to a real University. Being a graduate of the University of Houston is something to overcome - not rest on your dubious "laurels".
Even WTF could have graduated from that place.
