Thank you Kayla for reminding me of brighter times. I have tried three times to draft a positive response to your post, and three times I have drifted into negative turf.

Suffice it to say that I believe any lady can blow me. My quest is for the one who can also blow my mind. There was a time where I could read the boards and find the ladies who presented themselves as both playful and intelligent. And frequently not without strong opinion. Wynterstark, Autumn Stark, ~Ze~, Grace Preston, Shae Veile, Reese Foster, TNT Angie, EmilyEzzell, Heather Winston, TheOriginalDannie, Kelly TNT all routinely caught my attention, made me think, made me laugh, and teased the hell out of me. Things were fun, playful, respectful, and relatively safe or as safe as this hobby gets. And while a few of these ladies still offer the occasional post, I miss the days where that was the general tone of the board.

Maybe things will cycle back around and people will get back to playing nice in the sandbox. Or maybe that's just wishful thinking.

One of the reasons why I still post, and try to start topics as well, because the best clients that you'll find (well, most of the time!) are going to be the ones that lurk. Read.

Study. Observe. Well, you already know that, don't you?

The negativity has gotten really bad here but it was always there, even back in the day. Now, though, I see people being just awful and not verbalizing as well while doing so. So perhaps it's more obvious?

But I also believe that the vile behaviors that we're seeing so much of on this board is a more reflective microcosm of the way the internet has grown, overall. The vulgarity, overt rudeness (and acceptance of such behavior), and the "meanness" that is so obviously happening online these days, reflects a societal change and anonymity (as presented in the article above about trolls) allows free reign with those to whom causing pain, and conflict, provides them joy and with little or no repercussions.

It's all related in this web of life thing that is going on. Sometimes, I'll read something, Kayla ... and it's easy to feel all bummed out (the latest Vi debacle is a prime example). How disappointing some people turn out to be (who should know better)!

What IS so very nice, though, is when a wonderful person contacts you and just is a delight. It still happens. But for me, I have to trudge through a lot of declined appointments, or someone refusing to screen, before finding those diamonds.

Used to be a lot of those types of guys around. Now? With the glutted market in Texas? That really adds to the negativity that you're seeing so much more frequently.

Just my few thoughts.
