SN agree china is the key with support from Russia.
One fundamental aspect of the war game is managing the risk. What that means - respect for the enemy - no over confidence. I mentioned fire power meaning all possible targets in NK and others are probably programmed with trajectory, but you never know. All it takes one miss....trust me.....
Most of the time I was the hunter up in the air at times I was the hunted. The only consolation I know about it......so....
It's good to over prepare always.....

Only good outcome from that loss was a funny tv show.

But didn't the US do nothing when China made their first atomic bomb? Look what happens now, China advanced to the point it can strike mainland US. Same pattern with North Korea, US allowing NK do whatever it wants until is too late

Sir the last Korean war was before my time so cannot comment. Learned what not to do and not to repeat at college and we followed that...we delivered on the objectives..
We practiced at night when everyone was sleeping.. and we delivered when the time was right....at the crack of early dawn....its a perfect ballet in the air.....precision...
This is a delicate situation with China in the mix....

In the last go round, the objectives were unclear and or inadequate.
When the objective is clear and terminal, it's easier (read possible) to complete.
The latter allowing your team to successfully execute.
Korea.....Vietnam.....not so much.

This is the modern time. No all out war anymore after the bomb was invented, with conquering, taking land and such. Battles fought now for country posturing and political reasons. Stalemates and negotiations.

So true VM, cause the consequences and impacts of war is far greater than what used to be in the past. Everyone is going to be impacted weather you win or loose. War is not an option always...and here probably not at all..

The interesting thing about modern warfare is we have bomber bases in Kansas. The pilots wake up, have breakfast, leave their houses to go to work. They fly to the Middle East and drop their bombs. Then they head for home, in time to mow the lawn that evening.

Exactly, why send a man when you can send a missile.

Need to check you times there buddy, that is a 37 hour round trip. Impossible on the same day, and probably too worn out to do it the next one even if it's still daylight.
I do get the point......................

Guys, If our CIA was what it was BEFORE Carter got in office, we could just have the CIA put some of those China CHICKEN Flu bugs in ALL of the North Leaders FOOD and let nature take its way with those WAR MONGERS. If the US uses Nuks or other things from our Air Force as always our Leaders would want to send in our GI's. We have LOST so many of our YOUNG men and women FIGHTING in and for other piss ant countries that end up screwing us after the fighting is over and our Leaders again think that the AMERICANS should give them BILLIONS OF OUR TAX PAYERS DOLLARS TO HELP THEM.SCREW THAT!!! I'm sorry for this rant, But this is how I see it after 70+ years on this Earth and over 10 years in The Air Force and Army.
