Exactly my point. but not "to no ones surprise", actually to most people's dismay. they should be in the playoffs but management fucked the team.

Nutting is easy to dislike. But why not support this team? If people don’t, the Pirates will end up like the A’s. They’ll move.

I honestly don't care if they move. I won't spend money on the Pirates knowing that's the only thing Nutting cares about. He couldn't care less about a winning season or keeping a good team in return for the support the fans have given the team all these years. If people keep pouring money into the team via tickets, concessions, merch, etc, he'll never change his way of doing business. He doesn't care about the fan base, so he's lost me and my money. He can take his grift to another city for all I care.

Typo is right. Nutting doesn't give a flying fuck about winning baseball games. Many people I know refuse to support the team until Nutting leaves, which he won't be any time soon. They do this to us every April/May and invariably end up in the shitter.

I was at the game last night, btw. I won't boycott the team but I'm surely not getting my hopes up either. I predict they'll be back in the basement come August.

Based on your comments in other threads here, I find the lack of self-awareness hilarious

I wouldn’t go to a pirate game if picked up at home by a limo and had the best seats in the place for free.

The Penguins and Steelers spend to the cap every year.

I understand the Pirates can’t spend to the cap but they don’t remotely spend enough for a decent team.
Sure they’ll be good a year or so with young cheap talent get people back then trade off the good players.

No Thank you, I won’t support the Pirates.

... WHAT "lack of self-awareness" is that?

.... Bambino surely happens to be CORRECT.

You lads can hate Nutting all you want.
But the FACT remains - the Pirate baseballers
are playing a winning game with LOW payroll.

So maybe they have a chance to be good for the
next 3 years or so - BEFORE another salary purge.

Oh, and you Pens fans surely give good support.
Though WHEN was the last time the Pens won a
play-off series??

The Steelers - me favourite Pittsburgh team
- with one of the strongest barracks in NFL football.!

Though - what is it? ... 4 (four) play-off games
won in the last 11 (eleven) years??

WHAT can it hurt to show support for the Pirates??

Yeah, well. Nutting took control of the Pirates in 2007. They were a complete mess and on the brink of leaving. Mark Cuban didn’t want them. He wanted the Cubs. Far more revenues to play with. They became contenders in 2013. They’ve stunk for the last 5yrs but they’re on the right track again. It’s just the reality of small market teams in MLB. People think the Rooneys are great. They’re cheaper than the Nuttings. A monkey can own a NFL franchise and make money. Their stadium is falling apart. While PNC is still a gem. People forget about Baldwin and the Pens. That moron went bankrupt and the Pens almost left town. Mario saved the day.

The Pirates have been here since the 1890’s. I’ll support them no matter who the owner is. I support everything about Pittsburgh. I want the Ballet and Symphony to be world class also. I was born and raised here. I’m a PITTSBURGH GUY. US Steel should come back and build modern steel mills in Alliquippa, Braddock, McKeesport and Midland. Help renovate those forgotten towns. And take UPMC of their once proud headquarters.

The Pirates have a great history. I want them here.

https://www.mlb.com/news/teams-with-...les-c299893938

My father started bringing me to Forbes Field when I was 6yrs old. He had season tickets behind home plate in the second level. Best seats in the house. It was like Disney World to me. All of the greatest players, Mays, Aaron, Koufax and Gibson played there. Along with Clemente, Maz and Stargell. But the Pirates had Alou, Clendenon and Hebner too. A magical place. 3 Rivers sucked for baseball and football. PNC is so good. I love going there.

I’ve been to Fenway, Wrigley, the Original Yankee stadium, Chavez Ravine and Camden Yards. PNC is better than most of the old shrines to baseball.

I’m not supporting Bob Nutting and never will. Hopefully the Pirates move and we’ll have the best AAA ballpark in America. Which we sort of have now, it will just be official.

Bahahahahahaha
