Agree that SUPERTRUMP underestimated the depth and the greasiness of the swamp before he took office, probably figured they were civil servants who did as they were told like robots.

I think he believed if he could throttle the assholes slithering around the international real estate industry could easily have his way with scumbag government officials.

The swamp is so full of pieces of human excrement that I guess it takes on a life of it's own, especially when acting in tandem with the creepy media.

You make a great point about the Red portion of NYS. Coming from NYC, I was heartened by the conservatism of the suburbs/exurbs of Rochester. Alas, I will be moving back in a few months (my responsibilities here are at an end and it's time to pick up the slack in NYC) so my weaponry will go into hiding, but my Redneck peeps down there will be my solace. Plus the pizza and hos are better...
