I wonder if any of Dumbama's ardent supporters know how little these two executive orders mean? The first bans repatriation of U.S. made military weapons given or loaned to foreign governments. For all practical purposes this means the few thousand M-1 Garands and M-1 carbines still in South Korean stockpiles. 60 year old military rifles, way too big to fit in any gangbangers baggy pants. An M-1 Garand weighs about 11 pounds loaded with its 8 round clip. Carbines are another story, a light weight 30 shot weapon, but way out of favor with the bangers because of its pipsqueak cartridge. It would be a stretch to imagine either of these weapons ever having been involved in a crime. Banning them is the same sort of grandstanding that Bill Clinton wallowed in with his "Assault Weapons Ban". Comparing a pre-ban and post-ban AR-15 reveals the absence of a bayonet lug on the post-ban gun. When was the last time anyone heard of a crime being committed with a bayonet on an AR-15? To further compound the folly, the new "ban" will not apply to imports by the Civilian Marksmanship Program, a quasi-government/military group that sells old military guns to the public.

The other folly is subjecting gun trust principles to a background check. This change was actually suggested by a firearms advocacy group that focuses on National Firearms Act weapons (full automatics, short barreled gun and suppressors). They wanted more secure ownership of these weapons, even though none have ever been involved in a crime in the 80+ year history of legally owned machine guns.

Both of these jokes allow Barry to crow about his executive orders making our streets safer. Hollow rhetoric from our amateur president-in-training. A community activist stapling posters to telephone poles does not gain meaningful experience to be an administrator or a leader. The cruel joke of Barry Soetoreo continues.
