Well.....what pisses me off is an owner / GM that announces at this summer's training camp the reason the Defensive Line was not addressed / fortified (via April's Draft, free agency, trade, etc) was because that particular area was a "true strength of the team".
Now we know that was just another lie. Spencer and Ratliff were both question marks at that time and today neither are on the team. And Ware....? Let's face it....he's a shell of the player he was 4 - 5 + years ago......
We're not done giving up 400+ yard passing games either.......the Cowboys see Drew Brees and Aaron Rodgers later on. Hell Fire, Minnesota can't throw it in the ocean, yet Christian Ponder might come into town this weekend and set an all time record against this group.

Spending a small fortune for a parking spot, a seat, a beer and a hot dog, to then cheer a mediocre football team: The people in Dallas are stuck with a lemon, and if they continue to support this BS, they have no one else to blame for this to continue.
Jones knows he's dealing with simpletons who don't know their ass from their elbow who'll show up for 10 to 12 games if for no other reason than to look with lust at the cheerleaders.
Its been over 20 years since they've won a playoff game. Some time during a game, Romo will come up with a high school Harry play that backfires, then shows up at the post game press conference forgetting to shave, unless he's underscoring the fact he not only looks like a bum, at times he plays like one.
America's team? They seem to mirror America today which actually elected Barry Soetoro twice.

I totally agree. There were good players on the D line, but one injury could ruin that plan. That's exactly what happened. I think Escobar could become a decent player, but our 2nd round pick should have been a defensive lineman.
Now we know that was just another lie. Spencer and Ratliff were both question marks at that time and today neither are on the team. And Ware....? Let's face it....he's a shell of the player he was 4 - 5 + years ago......
Absolutely for Ratliff, but I disagree about Spencer being a question mark. He was still a good player who didn't have a history of injury problems. He just had bad luck and got hurt at the worst time for us.
I wouldn't call Ware a shell of the player he used to be. I recall against the Rams him knocking supposed elite LT Jake Long on his ass several times during the game. His body is definitely breaking down though. But that just happens when you face double teams and chips from RBs and TEs your entire career. I still think he can be great, but I would like to see his number of snaps go down to around 40 a game.

Yeah, we're in trouble on that front. Don't forget Eli, he could certainly shred our D again.

Enjoy the false sense of bravado. They played only good enough to beat a team with one win. Reality sets back in next Sunday night in New Orleans.

I agree. Even with Colston (injured) and Sproles (concussion) missing from their lineup, a hobbled Jimmy Graham and Drew Brees are good enough to put 400+ yds / multiple TD's on the board against Dallas' porous D.
Not to mention the added incentive Rob Ryan will have to dial it up on defense against Dallas this weekend. I think Romo could be in for a long day if we can't run the ball (which we haven't all season).
The Jets made Brees miserable yesterday with someone in his face all day long......Dallas is unlikely to repeat that performance. Look for the Saints to bounce back from yesterday's upset and have a Hey Day Sunday night.

By the way, as of this writing, there are 14 teams with a winning record.....14 with losing records.....and 4 that are sitting at .500. Perhaps that's the definition of parity.....I don't know.
Dallas, for what it's worth, is one of those 14 teams with a winning record today. Not that 5-4 is anything to throw a parade over. Not one W is over an opponent with a winning record. Flipside is, a pair of those losses are to two of the NFL's best teams this season.....undefeated (9-0) Kansas City and the (7-1) Denver Broncos. Make of that what you will.
Remainder of the COWBOY schedule and those opponent's current record:
@ New Orleans (6-2)
BYE
@ NY Giants (2-6)
Oakland (3-5) Thnksgvng
@ Chicago (4-4) *play MNF this evening
Green Bay (5-2) *play MNF this evening
@ Washington (3-5)
Philadelphia (4-5)
I like their chances versus BYE the following week they get run out of town against New Orleans. I feel the defense should hold BYE under 400 yards with few penalties, too boot. It remains to be seen if Dez will do something stupid or newsworthy versus BYE.....so stay tuned per that.
Consider this: the Cowboys are currently 1-3 in road games this season..... that bodes badly for them the rest of this campaign if that trend continues.

With that schedule coming up, and nothing drastically changes, I see the boys going 8-8 and winning the NFC (L)East with that record, but they will get beat and handily, by the favored wildcard team in the first round.
L - NO
L - NYG
W - OAK
L - CHI
L - GB
W - WA
W - PHI
Maybe trade the W/L with the Giants and Eagles

ONE AND FORTY-SEVEN???
With still so much of the football season remaining, it's not likely to happen. However......at the current pace each is on, three teams could end up with cumulative win-loss records of 1-47. Hardly the league of parity that Pete Rozelle or Paul Tagliabue envisioned, huh?
I would dare say that's never happened in the NFL before. But if one or more of these franchises don't steal a win or two the second half of the season, it could become a first.
Jacksonville and Tampa Bay are both winless, O-8. And Minnesota sits with a single win at 1-7.
Tampa Bay (almost) took down Seattle on the road yesterday after jumping on them 21-0. Bad teams figure out ways to lose....and they did. And the Jags are simply dreadful, nuff sed. Minnesota came close to upsetting Dallas, too....but no cigar.
Anyway, not going to post their remaining opponents....you can look their scheds up and decipher for yourself if it's possible (as anything is). But we'll revisit in another month if this trend continues for each.
On the flipside....Kansas City sits atop the NFL with a spotless 9-O record. Andy Reid has most likely sewn up Coach of the Year, don't you think? However, with two games left on their sched versus Denver, their work is cut out for them to go undefeated.
I think Jacksonville has the best chance to go Oh-Fer......as I said, they're simply dreadful and the top pick in April awaits them. And since they need everything, your guess is as good as anyone's as to who that'll be.

Romo is a great quarterback, and if stats won championships, we would be celebrating at least his 5th Super Bowl victory this year. Too bad the team concept has to win and not stats!
