And that is for the standard package. It is not unusual in the service industry to pay discretionary gifts, aka tips for to ensure better service, or to show appreciation for going above and beyond. If you tip your favorite bartender, you may get a better drink? Cheap tippers may get a secret surprise sauce in their hamburger? A better table if you tip the maitre d'? Just saying... it's discretionary. If I can afford it, I would soon pay a little extra and get the good stuff from behind the counter, than the standard stuff off the shelf. If I can't afford it, I should go shop somewhere else.
If you are saying that because they are running a business, tips should not be expected. That is one business model. In others, the restaurant business for example, tips are expected and an integral part of the business model. If you are in a truly great restaurant, you would be surprised at all of the wonderful stuff you can get off the standard menu if you show a little generosity.
Personally, I think that's why Whispers is so popular and effective with strippers. He tips in other ways besides monetarily, and has the reputation.

Dude, quit being such a fucking pussy. Do you really think that because you didn't address Whispers directly we don't know who you were referring to? You played the same card in the "Chosen One" thread. Apparently you don't like him and the majority of his post. Fair enough but quit being so chicken shit and confront him about it. Argue with him or whatever but you're acting like a dick. Man up or shut up.
As far as the OP request for opinions. It certainly comes across as begging for gifts. Dressing it up as "I'm curious what you guys think" is bullshit.

Don't say it with flowers. Don't say it with points.
Don't even say it with cash.
Say it with repeat business. And with good reviews.

Your a bit blinded here kboy...... You are comparing $2.35 per hour employees that derive the bulk of their income from tips and equate a good shift to a couple of hundred dollars to $200-$350 an hour prostitutes....
If you want to do accurate comparison to others that provide services try comparing them to doctors, dentists and lawyers. The last time you had a tooth pulled how much did you tip your dentist? What kind of gift did you buy your lawyer this year? Do you make anything close to $350 an hour? I don't.... Do you get tipped? I don't.....

yeah... There was a young lady sitting beside me this morning while I helped her do her taxes.... She was very appreciative.......
So I sometimes "pay" in alternative manners but I "tip" strippers in the same manner i "tip' providers..... By referring them to other clients that will spend money on them......

I don't disagree. I was just discussing with another respected hobbyist friend today how I ended sending some $$$ to a favorite girl friend via Western Union this weekend when she had an "emergency" meltdown out-of-town. He also had just sent some money to one of his regulars in trouble out-of-town. It does cause one to consider the merits of the Whispers model of hobbying.
But that's why I said, different strokes for different folks. If you are opposed to tipping, then don't go where tipping is expected or part of the deal in order to get good service. That why I think some guys prefer indies, some guys prefer strippers. Hell, as a matter of fact, the whole stripper space is base on "tips". I personally think variety is good. I will eat at reasonably priced restaurants where tipping is not expected. But, occassionally I might splurge and go the other extreme to a 5-star restaurant. My expectation and satisfaction with what I get is adjusted accordingly.

No, I wasn't trying to compare a $2.35 and hour worker to a high priced escort. Nor do I want to have a surgeon working at $20/hr plus tips for a bypass procedure. My point is, that just because it's business, it doesn't mean that tips shouldn't be factored into the business model. It just depends. An indie provider that averages $200/hour, and books 4 appointments in a day is $800 per day. So on an hourly basis, over an 8-hour day she is "on-call", working, posting on Eccie, writing ads, in beauty maintenance procedures, at the gym staying slim, that is $100/hour. She is out of commission for some portion of the month due to Aunt Flo, say 15% of the time, so we are down to $85 per hour. If economy is bad, and she only gets 2 bookings per day, that is now $42.50 per hour. She is self employed so deduct all of the expenses now.
Now take a higher priced provider that charges $400 per hour list, and books 1 or 2 appointments a day. That still then works out to $42.50 to $85.00 an hour, except that her expenses are probably a little higher. Also, since she deals mostly with regulars, her recent price increase is all on paper. Her clients are all grandfathered in at $300 or $350. So the client feels special because he knows that she has made a special concession for him. So he "tips" or brings a $50 bottle of wine to the appointment to make up for it and to let her know that he appreciates it.

Not really.... I'm there anyway..... I've been a Strip Club Guy for years and I go to them regularly for lunch or dinner if the So is unavailable.....
I "cultivate relationships" naturally almost anywhere I go...... We had some luck with a Twin peaks waitress not so long ago..... One from Bone Daddys over a year ago...... I "cultivate" the buildings lobby receptionist every time I walk by her...... The tellers at 2 different banks......
I reviewed an IHOP waitress a few years ago in Houston..... and a gal that was a bit player in porn while out in California... I met her at the gym I was going to....
For me it's just a part of my personality to always be schmoozing them.....
... But I don't go specifically TO do it.....
So I don't see it the same way......
And for buddies that see the girls I introduce them to they invest as long as it takes sometimes to meet me for a beer..... Maybe they buy me a beer..... Maybe not...... So a lot of guys see the strippers with little to no investment.....

I don't care how you take the words I write......
I like the fact that people care enough to read them.....
But unlike you..... I'm not trying to change you or suggest you do or be any different.....
I have plenty of people that seem to enjoy or benefit from my contributions.........

My point exactly! Guys that don't frequent SC will have to make that investment if they want to play in your space. You may not see it as an additional investment, but to the bulk of the guys that are in the indy space, they can't afford that investment. So, we pay the higher per hour rate, and limit our courtship ritual dance to a few emails, pm's, phone calls, or texts. Tips can happen in either situation, and is up to individual preference and practice.
I am not disagreeing with you at all, but I see this whole thing, stripper vs indies, tips or no tips as being very subjective preference. Let's not make the same mistake that organized religion made by making our individual truths the universal truth.

WOW! This thread got hot and spicy really quick!!! Here is my take on a few things that were said and I hope the boogeyman does not jump out of my computer and yell at me LOL!
To Ms Honey, I think it is a great gift gesture but I am going to stick to s on the deposits. Also with all the changes the site has made, I do not think they would be interested in adding something else that draws attention. More so with exchanging funds but you never know.
To austinBoy, thank you for thinking outside of the box! I never expect tips but it sure does put a huge grin on my face. Sometimes I receive the cutest gifts (a swan vase once that had my fav flowers, wine in adorable wine sacs) and it really does make a difference. I believe in tipping those who have gone outside of their "duties" or have just made the rest of my day exceptionally well.
To Ztonk, I agree with running it like a business because it is one, sadly there are alot of MEN and Women who do not treat it as such. In my opinion the fee should cover everything but gasoline, if you break it all down it would make sense. However I will not go further into a rate discussion and I am sure that would be appreciated by the mods and ladies.
There we go!! I know its long but sometime I just see something that makes me wanna jump in the interesting convo.
Thank you honey for the interesting thread, even though it was slightly highjacked.
Happy Screwing!!!

Exactly right...What works for some doesnt necesarily work for someone Else..We are individuals with our own Preferences..If you prefer the SC scene like whispers does then by all means go that route and have a Blast..But if someone doesnt like that Scene for his own reasons.then let him be and let him what he is comfortable with..Be it the Street Scene,,an Indie,or an agency...To each their own..they all have Merits and all have Drawbacks..In the end its up the individual.
