Dang! I almost forgot The Blair Witch Project, not hard to do though.

I saw it at a dollar movie and wanted five dollars back for having
to sit through it.

Haha! I remember the Blair Witch Project! True story. A friend of a friend of a friend worked on the editing and production of the movie and got a prereleased copy. About a month or two before it was released in theaters this friend brings over a video of "these home videos from an attempted ghost documentary where the people were never seen again but they found their videos and they are making it into a movie!!"

Shit you not, about five of us sat there at thought it had all really happened! Excellent marketing for a let down flick. Pretty silly now to think we were all so gullible. Lol

I though Almost Famous was underrated and under appreciated. Very good movie.

TTH, I totally agree. Almost Famous was an amazing movie. Top 10 all time for me. Geez.. have you no soul? Maybe you couldn't relate to any characters or something... Wow.

I have an extreme aversion to contrived sentimental slop is all.

To me it fits into the same category as Pearl Harbor, but with
Guitars instead of Mitsubishi Zeros.

Like I said, I may be the only one.

I did like old yeller though.

Agreed. Pretty true to life also. In the '70s I was on the road in a security capacity with "Heart". While there was a certain amount of wanton debauchery going on, it was more within the crew than the artists.

The one thing I took away from that experience was that at their base, these megastars are just normal people in abnormal circumstances. Once you get past all the trappings of fame and "fortune", they have the same problems and insecurities as you and I.

While I value that experience highly, it's no way to live long term. I don't see how those guys like Willie do it year in year out.

Best line about Texas from a movie.

The Coen Brothers Movie (Blood Simple)

"But what I know about is Texas, an' down here....
You're on your own"

Best movie that failed to get it's point across.

Easy Rider.

A somber ending commenting on the failings of a narcissistic
hedonistic lifestyle, and the dangers of redneck encounters.

Everyone that saw it wanted to buy a Harley and head out
to Mardi Gras.

Any activities occurring in or around the late 60s early 70s had to
consider the inclusion of Karen Black.

Vanilla Sky was excellent, although I though they could have cast someone better than Tom Cruise in the male lead.

Remakes and adaptations, don't get me started.

Evil Dead remake, wasn't terrible but lacked the twisted charm
of the first two originals.

True Grit, actually liked it better than the original.
They say it is more true to the book, and I never
was a big John Wayne fan.

Worst I can think of. Just about any movie adaptation
of some 70s TV show. The Brady Bunch, The Beverly Hillbillies, Flintstones, etc.
