The system has changed changed since the founders put it all together and that includes HOW justices are selected. Remember? Senators used to be selected by either a state legislature or by a sitting governor. They were not elected by a popular vote. That meant that those senators were not representing party when they put on the black robe. Their nominating process was supposed to be devoid of federal politics for that reason. Anyone controlling the senator making the decision had a master back in the home state and not down the hall. This politized all nominations including those of any court. Yes, someone can claim to support the Constitution and still recognize how much the process has been bastardized through the years till it is not the same system put together by Hamilton, Adams, and Marshall.
Maybe you can go get some "sympathy" from your butt buddies woomby and shammy and lil cotex.
