Link please? I've seen interviews with their friends, uncle, mother, and father and there is no mention of any connection to a terrorist group. How do you know this and the people closest to them don't?

That might be true, but it still doesn't establish a connection to an organized terrorist group, does it? Unless you're calling all Muslims terrorists.

After they get done questioning the young one, checking computers, etc, it might be established that there was a connection to a larger group, but as of right now, I haven't seen it in any credible news source.

The only reason LE labels them "terrorists" is to accommodate a different set of rules to "process" them through A judicial system ... and leave that option open to the Feds. As a matter of evidence the Feds may need a "group" with which to associate them to facilitate their conviction within that standard to assure they are "treated" differently than the common murderer.
