As has been said, it is all just part of doing business. But the main factor in determining how the incident will be perceived by both parties is communication. If a valid conflict arises and the party that cannot fulfill the appointment notifies the other and is reasonable in explaining the situation, most people are understanding. But not calling or offering any explanation is what sours clients and providers alike. It's no different than dating - did your date cancel and reschedule, or did you get stood up?

I had an issue a while back that I've written about before, but it still applies. I had made a noon appointment with a provider, was super excited about seeing her. Day of appointment comes and communication stopped that morning. I didn't badger her, but did try calling and texting.

Appointment time came and went and I never heard from her until that evening. I was kinda pissed, but didn't blow my top like I wanted to. Turns out she had a family emergency and was in the hospital all day and was unable to receive my messages. She apologized profusely and made it up to me by taking half off the cost of the makeup session.

In the end, it all worked out OK, but circumstances out of both of our control messed up our original appointment.

I had that happen to me i was waiting here came in from work and i let the guy in. He asked to used the bathroom well when he came out he washed his hand and goes im going to leave but. Before he used the bathroom he tells me he left my donation in the car i told him to go get it. Well after using the bathroom he left he supposed to come back and yep he never came back. I dont think he had intentions to pay me in the beginning.

This is actually now a business model. Apps where you allow random people to use something of yours (toilet, shower, bed, car, etc.) for a nominal fee. Like Uber; but for a poo!

I agree. But explanations and apologies have limits, too. I had a bumpy time setting an appointment with a provider within the last couple days then arrived and she had 5 different excuses about why she kept me waiting 45 min. We rescheduled for the following day and I made sure the time worked for her. Confirmed it next morning and she said yes, we're on.. Then silence until just after we were supposed to meet and she texts and has a couple more excuses and says she'll be there in 10. After silence and no response for 30 min, I left. SNAFUs happen, and legitimate problems arise. In those circumstances I'm happy to accomodate and be as flexible as I can. But there is such a thing as not having it together.

The really hard part with this provider is that she really was sorry each time and really had many of the problems she described. (You know them, but you've rarely heard all of them at one time ... cell problems, problem with the room, real honest to goodness problem with her car, etc.) But apologies only go so far, and screwing up almost as bad on the rescheduled time won't back up her verbal I'm-really-sorrys she had said on the first go round.

Allergies to cats is serious. I have experienced it twice. I managed to go through with it. Good idea to advertise. Just putting the cat out an hour before, still can be a problem for some. I wouldnt turn down your kitty sweet treat. I would enjoy your company and suffer later.

Not disclosing animals in the incall is a big deal do I want to go back to work with cat hair and explain why I look like a chinchilla and smell like a litter box

Yeah it sucks. There have been many times that I've made appointments with providers and when I get there they don't answer. I sat around for 30 minutes last week hoping she would answer but she never did. I left a go I email but she never called back.

Ummmm kay not sure when that situation will happen again the same way.. And BTW I'm running great specials as it is so no discount needed. You let me know kay.. Actually, I'll give you a shout when I'm back from my break.. Should be within 2-4 weeks.. Hopefully by Thanksgiving or a week or so later.

WELP I have included the "animal disclaimer" in my latest ad.. And my place NEVER smells like cat litter.. The box is in another separate room no one even goes in in my apartment since I have a 1 bedroom w/ a den (small spare bedroom) which I use specifically for my cats' stuff. I also keep clean sheets, linens, etc and use a lint roller everywhere. So no worries.. But totally understand your concern
