On a Navy ship...just what did you defend us from? A pod of whales?

Just because you were in the Navy does not mean you van blame your shitty 401k performance on Obama. Quit playing the military card. That was long ago and the market plays no favorites.

I spent 21 months in the army on active duty. I then moved on and entered a preferred profession. You made a different choice and I hope you are as satisfied with your choice as I am with mine. I will tell you this. The time I spent in the army gave me a greater appreciation of life outside of the army.

FWIW, the career enlisted soldiers that I knew, for the most part, were not in the service primarily to defend this country. They were there because there was little opportunity for their job skills in the outside world.

To answer an earlier idiot, I did spend two years in the army before enlisting the navy. I don't think about that too much but I did mention several times a few years ago. No, I don't regret my time in the navy but it does bother me some when some people throw their money in my face especially when I could have been just as successful had a I taken a different career path. It almost comes across that they are better than me that they chose a money making career which they spent 30 or 40 years in. When it comes to pensions, 401Ks, and the like, I am about 20 odd years behind the rest of you. So I am glad that you are comfortable but don't try to impress me.

As for the second part of your comment, I had a scholarship for college when I enlisted the first time. A small scholarship to be sure. It was not a sports scholarship, it was an academic scholarship. I was very, very good with numbers and order when I left high school. I scored a 99 on my ASVAB. I could have done anything as the teachers always said but I WANTED to serve my country not because I had no choice but because I wanted to.

Like I said earlier, you chose your life goals and I chose mine. I am very happy with the path I chose. Served my country when asked and then had a rather successful business career. Not outstanding but accomplished what I set out to do. Your military career does not impress me any more than my business career impresses you. ASVAB? Never heard of it. I googled it and found out it is a military test. Not impressed. ACT and SAT scores get you into good colleges.

As for whether or not you could have been just as successful had you chosen a different career path -- no way to prove that.

BTW, my comment about why enlisted soldiers chose the military was in no way directed at you. I'm sure a handful of enlisted soldiers were there because they wanted to defend their country. I just did not meet them.

JL still manages to try and heap his own perverse sense of morality on others.

Your fraud is more than ungracious.

Stick that up your ass, FAGGOT!

Thanks for the advice WK. I'll give it all the consideration it deserves. My advice to you-- stick to your football game picking. At least there you have an iota of credibility.

JD and the Waco Crybaby are bitching about doing so bad in 2015 and wanting to blame Obama when in fact many on this board have done very well. What they fail to realize is that Obama has nothing to do with your success or failure...once they learn that small fact, they just might start making some money!

Okay, I got a number of 34s and 35s on my ACT and a combined score of 1480 on my SATs (the old one). I took the SAT because I was bored one day on the ship. Nothing to do, wandered over to the education office across the street and asked what was up. They told me that they were doing SATs that day. 710/770. Imagine if I had studied or hadn't been out of school for over eight years.

If true, congratulations. One source I read stated that out of 1.8 million people who take the ACT only about 1000 get a 36. Unlike you, I am impressed by such statistics.

For such a smart guy, you'd think JDrunk wouldn't feel compelled to post his College entrance exam scores. He obviously is either lying or peaked early in life.

Maybe a little bit of both.

After all, some of us chose to make money instead of swabbing decks. We should be grateful that a powerful intellect like that wasn't in thee workforce, or none of us might have succeeded. Instead, he chose to protect sailors from dirty decks.

Thank you JDrunk!

Didn't we have a guy around here who used to post about being a member of Mensa?
