Hi hon, I just read your post about being on hospice. I'm so sorry that you are going through this and hope that you will find comfort and acceptance at the end of your journey.

I enjoyed our time together way back in the day, and am sorry we didn't get a chance to reconnect.

Here's a piece I've read about death that always gives me hope for another realm waiting for me on the other side. I hope it does for you, too.

Gone From My Sight by Henry Van Dyke

I am standing upon the seashore. A ship, at my side, spreads her white sails to the moving breeze and starts for the blue ocean. She is an object of beauty and strength.

I stand and watch her until, at length, she hangs like a speck of white cloud just where the sea and sky come to mingle with each other.

Then, someone at my side says, "There, she is gone."

Gone where?

Gone from my sight. That is all. She is just as large in mast, hull and spar as she was when she left my side. And, she is just as able to bear her load of living freight to her destined port.

Her diminished size is in me -- not in her.

And, just at the moment when someone says, "There, she is gone," there are other eyes watching her coming, and other voices ready to take up the glad shout, "Here she comes!"

And that is dying...

Hospice is the one government program that is useful and actually works right.

I have close family member whom as a younger woman worked for Hospice. And as advanced in her field can take time out to walk with our family members at the very end who have been in hospice ..she is a true Angel.
They are an AMAZING organization.
It takes a very special person to assist people in a walk like that.
I met this gent one time..
He was a sweet heart.
Hopefully he is at peace..

I have a family member on hospice now & my grandpa was also on hospice a few years ago due to Stage 4 Lung Cancer before it went into remission . I agree they are great .
