More to the point, this subject has been broached by quite a few in different forums if you choose to use the search function for more diverse answers.
In my personal life and professional, I prefer a man trimmed above and shaved below - sleek testes, if you will. If the SO is the issue in not being able to manscape, vigorous use of a loofah can suffice. A hair down the throat is generally "game over" for me in the oral department. It's the same as finding a loose hair in your entree. Who wants that?
As someone who has been defurring their nether regions for about a decade, I would suggest to start slow if you are a novice as razor burn can be as much a visual deterrent to a lady as the physical implications of having a wookie residing in your briefs. If you decide to shave, be sure to invest in some sort of exfoliation device. You will be much more comfortable when the hair begins to grow back in a couple of days.
