Fred Thompson had the reputation of being lazy when he was in the Senate. He was also a fomer lobbyiest before he ran for the senate. Didn't think he made even a half-assed attempt to run the primaries.
Rudy wasn't serious either. I think he took his donors money and took an extended vacation in Florida at their expense. Didn't bother to campain in any of the cold states and instead focused only on Florida while staying in a $15,000 a night suite. He didn't do very well there even though he was there long before the other candidates.
I think Romney was the best leader the Republicans had to offer but they make a practice of eating their young and put ideology before qualifications.

There is one running against McCain right now in the Arizona primary. NY District 23 featured the good ole' boy (or girl in this case) candidate being replaced at the last minute by a Tea Party endorsed candidate (and lost).

I don't remember which district, but a 'Tea Party Democrat' plans to run in PA.

...So they are morphing into a movement with candidates. Since this brings back memories of Ross Perot, I would rather they stick to endorsing candidates, instead of running their own...but the situation is very fluid.

Actually, I supported Hillary in the primary's and would have voted for her had she won. I voted for McCain because I felt it was better to dance with the devil you know. But this does not make me a Republican. My personal belief as I have said many times is that neither party has produced anyone worth a crap since Regan and before that Kennedy. As for Bush, his winning is your fault, you and your party. If the best you could put up against him was John Kerry you deserved to lose, just as the Republicans did with McCain, Dole, Ford etc.

I would have voted for Hillary Clinton over McCain. A well known conservative writer, Ann Coulter also stated that was her intention.

I was for Fred Thompson...but he didn't have the money to go far. I would have voted for Rudy over Hillary, although they are very, very similar in many ways.

Its not as simple a decision as some people make it out to be...and I don't think voting for a party's candidate makes you a member of that party for life.

I even considered voting for a Democrat last time. Nancy Boyda. She rubbed me wrong with her blind opposition to the war in Iraq...but, she was in favor of more transparency with earmarks. She put her money where her mouth was, and listed all of hers. She also did some good things for veterans who weren't well cared for in the VA. She was generally responsive, and gave the people of her district alot of feedback. She did a good job.

The only reason I couldn't vote for her was I knew when the heads were counted on the big stuff (healthcare, cap n trade, etc.), she would always vote against me.
