He informed the Dallas County Health office that they had conducted a full scale drill/rehearsal/training session 10 days to two weeks before Mr. Duncan (RIP) walked into the hospital, yet not one member of the staff can remember such a drill. After TPH sent him home, Mr. Duncan's fiancé got on the phone to the CDC in Atlanta to find out what to do.

When he went back the second time, he was kept in the emergency room for two days before they admitted him to their ICU. In the end, THP withheld proper medical care for 5-6 days and insured his death.

As long as you are barking out incorrect facts.....it's THD (Texas Health Dallas....not TPH (wtf?) and not THP (That is Texas Health Plano). Nothing happened at TH Plano. My SO is a nurse with Texas Health who also gets the internal e-mails.
No one is kept in an ER for two days. He was put in an isolation suite off the ER before a larger room was isolated in CCU/ICU.

It will be interesting to see what happens to Nina Pham and Amber Vinson. The hospital sent them in to take care of him without the proper hazmat suits. So it could be pretty interesting to see how the hospital prevents that lawsuit.

This I agree with. And I think they should sue THR (Texas Health Resources) for having inadequate PPE measures to protect their staff.

It is pretty easy to vilify Mr. Duncan (RIP). He is dead and cant defend himself. Thank goodness there is a lot of good people at that hospital have defended him and his actions.
Well that was an extremely liberal point-of-view. He didn't deserve to die, but caused a lot of panic and worry in the medical community and across Texas, a ruined cruise, dozens of people to live in isolation for 21 days, a plane to be stripped of seats and decontaminated. He took no responsibility for his actions.

THR is not innocent in all this, but Duncan was a liar as well...on the questionnaire before his flight. He knowingly took an international flight and quit his job knowing he could be exposed and took the flight anyway. His boss back in Monrovia said he never showed for work. He was to be arrested if he ever returned to Liberia.

Non-economic losses are capped at $250,000 per Defendanyt, not to exceed a total of $500,000. Probably at least two Defendants here -- hospital and ER doctor's employer. The latter probably would have payed the most in no
PR issues were to be involved. Hospital may have been suffering economically because if bad public image, though I have no idea why. ER doc's aren't employees of the hospital but work instead for some staffing company that provides doctors to dozens, if not hundreds of hospitals. ER doc is the one who fucked up big time. He may work one day at Presbyterian, the next at Baylor, and the next day in Denton. No reason to avoid Presby, particularly.

Spot-on TushHog. Correct you are.
ER Docs / Internal Medicine / Hospitalists go all over depending where their agency or Locum Tenens send them.

Lawyers in this thread are clueless as to what liability Mr. Duncan's relatives may or may not have incurred. Only a few individuals know if they signed an admission form and took full financial liability for Duncan's hospital stay?

The so-called lawyers opining here don't know.

And sending next of kin a bill is standard operating procedure; especially to the Estate Executor. Again, some are clueless as to what assets Mr. Duncan may have had in his estate and who inherited those assets..presumably family members.

It is very possible that Mr. Duncan owned a home, rental property, or had other assets?

Again, the faux lawyers in this thread are clueless and are just blowing lawyer smoke up people's asses.

And any payout to the family could easily have been setup as an asset to Mr. Duncan's estate that could have been seized for payment to Dallas County for the expenses Mr. Duncan put on taxpayers for his stupidity in traveling to Dallas.

But of course liberals like Judge (Elmer Fudd) Clay think Dallas County taxpayers should foot the bill for the disaster Mr. Duncan caused.

The settlement should have never been discharged without Dallas County taxpayers getting complete reimbursement for Mr. Duncan's expenses. As well reimbursement for the Emergency Room treatments which are largely funded by taxpayer subsidies. The funds should have been set aside for settlement of possible other lawsuits that follow from Mr. Duncan's illegal travel to the US. He was the cause of multiple other people getting sick and any estate assets up for grabs.
