Non-economic losses are capped at $250,000 per Defendanyt, not to exceed a total of $500,000. Probably at least two Defendants here -- hospital and ER doctor's employer. The latter probably would have payed the most in no
PR issues were to be involved. Hospital may have been suffering economically because if bad public image, though I have no idea why. ER doc's aren't employees of the hospital but work instead for some staffing company that provides doctors to dozens, if not hundreds of hospitals. ER doc is the one who fucked up big time. He may work one day at Presbyterian, the next at Baylor, and the next day in Denton. No reason to avoid Presby, particularly.
