How do you know what they teach? Did you attend an "Ivy League" law school?

When (if) LL went to Law School, the Ivy hadn’t grown yet.

I can't tell whether some of your ridiculous posts are serious or whether you are kidding. Because you appear to have absolutely no sense of humor whatsoever, I just assume you are serious.

You clowns dismissing how hard it is to get into an Ivy League school have no idea what you are even talking about. Average Joe's like me had to beat out legacy rich kids to be there. It's not easy to get into these schools when you don't attend a fancy private school or daddy can't write a large check. By far the most challenging part is getting into those schools when you are not born with a silver spoon in your mouth. The easy part is once you are there and you only have to do the classwork and you try your best to fit in as much as you can although you grew up in a different world.

Anyway, this thread is about a very qualified (who has both the education and the experience) woman who has both of her degrees from Harvard. And you're talking about classmates at fucking high school. Yeah, that makes total sense (said nobody remotely educated ever). LOL

My fuzzy memory recalls tons-upon-tons of discussion about high school during the Kavanaugh hearings. Hypocrite much, with your hippocampus?!?

I’ve long said and maintain that senate confirmation should be only about qualification not about political leanings.

But there are no qualifications so it has to be based on something other than that. The only reason I agreed that she was "qualified", is because of the fact that it doesn't make a damn bit of difference and if Kavanaugh and Barrett were both "qualified", why would any Democrat oppose them? For the obvious reason of their judicial philosophy of course.

If there is one thing we should all agree on, it is that a SC Justice must respect the Constitution, not toss it in the trash and substitute their "feelings" instead of the document they have sworn to protect and defend.

Whether it’s for cabinet positions, federal judges and any other appointments. I don’t approve of it for either party.

But you only seem to speak about it when one party is the subject, not both.

Unfortunately we’re headed to the time that opposite party senates will be able to essentially shut down a presidency by not taking up any nominations whether for the judiciary or cabinet. We will see how things work when we reach that point.

We will, the people will decide based on the actions one party or the other takes regarding these matters.

As you suggested, lets try and keep this simple. First we must start with a definition of "qualified". What are the qualifications to be nominated to the SC?

What Are the Requirements to Become a Supreme Court Justice?

Quote:
There are no explicit requirements in the U.S. Constitution for a person to be nominated to become a Supreme Court justice. No age, education, job experience, or citizenship rules exist. In fact, according to the Constitution, a Supreme Court justice does not need to even have a law degree.

Well damn, that sure seems to put a different spin on the conversation. Soooo, in fact, everybody on this board is "qualified" to sit on the court since there are no qualifications.

So having a law degree and having practiced law, is not a qualification. The janitor at the court could be nominated and put on the court.

What an extraordinary thing for somebody to say, especially someone claiming to be a lawyer. When the nominee takes the oath, to protect and defend the Constitution, what is the Constitution if it can be anything the Justices want it to be? It would not be grounded in anything? But damn, that may say more about you than any of the other ridiculous things you have said.

So if a SC Justice said, I don't give a damn what the Constitution says, that would be OK with you? Sure it would as long as it was a Democrat I guess. SMH

what you have written is why "qualifications" boil down to political beliefs

its world view

attempts at pinning jackson down about her "qualifications" finds her squirming and dodging

most liberals in todays world are not qualified when you compare the required oath to their reality

the request for her definition of a woman put her on the spot and was the perfect question and revealed her lack of qualification

True and I think everybody here is smart enough to know that but the left will still use racist, rapist, sexist and any other vile word they can come up as to not have to admit it's all about ideology.

You mean the oath to protect and defend the Constitution that 1bm1 says doesn't mean shit to him.

Revealed either her lack of common sense or her knowledge of what the left will do to her if she admitted the truth. They would literally lynch her if she gave the biological answer to that question.

One of the best lines to come out of this is "I'm not a vet, but I know what a dog is". Beautiful common sense.

You're surely welcome to post your views here.

Because America is STILL a Free Country, at least

I just read all 18 pages.....

Ketanji is qualified. Kavanaugh is qualified. Barrett not even close.

As of now: Romney, Murkowski and Collins will vote to confirm Ketanji.

This is a wrap.

Next Supreme Court Justice

Associate Justice Brown. And she’ll be there another 20+ years. Good deal.
