If LeBron James is criticizing the Dallas Cowboys for their 4th quarter performance then you know you have problems since LeBron James doesn't know how to finish a 4th quarter either!

You really have to question Garrett's time management and decision making yesterday. After they got that 1st down at the Cardinals 32 yard line with 24 seconds to play and 2 time outs, Garrett decided to attempt the field goal there instead of calling time out immediately after the play and trying to get some more yardage to make it an easier field goal. A 49 yard field goal is not automatic. Another 10 or 15 yards would have greatly improved the odds on a field goal attempt. And then he lets himself be talked into calling a time out, essentially icing his own kicker. I still say Garrett needs to hire an offensive coordinator, so he can concentrate on managing the game, which he did a piss poor job of yesterday. And the Cowboys obviously need to step up their play, if they expect to beat the Giants next Sunday night in Dallas. Hopefully, this loss will serve as a wake up call for the Cowboys. With the way they were playing, they were not going to run the table and win all of the rest of their games. Thankfully, both the Giants and Lions also lost yesterday. The Giants played a good game against the Packers. And the thug Lions, obviously did not learn anything from Suh's 2 game suspension. Talk about an undisciplined and no character team. RJ sure picked a real winner there. LOL. (Sorry, I just had to go there.)

Nice guy is totally right. The 2 minute drill they tried to run was horrible. Why run down and spike the ball when you have two timeouts and burn all your time.
Aside from that , the fact that they keep coming down to the wire against soso teams is the bigger story. They should be up by 14 points and running out the clock in the fourth quarter.
And the defense,,,,,, what is it they do when it's crunch time ? They shut a team down for three quarters and then fall to pieces at the end.
I can't put this all on Romo, hell they all blew it.
I was also thinking about how few times icing a kicker has worked over the years. Garret managed to make it work textbook on his own fuckin guy.
I was in shock and dismay. The hideousness of it all !!!!!!!!

Well like I said I am remaining neutral in this because until Jerry Jones gets his big ego out of the way the Cowboys will be nothing but a novelty for the residents of Texas. But, they have the easiest schedule in the league this year and everybody is yelling playoffs. 1 good win, against the Rams who were winless. Other than that it has been squeak by at the last moment against mediocre to bad teams. No offense Cowboy fans but I think Calallen could make a good showing against them. How far do you think the last minute overtime wins against so-so teams will get them in the playoffs? Lets say that they get really really lucky (which isn't likely in December) and they make it past wild card weekend. How bad will they be spanked in Green Bay in the winter? If this happens I'll do 2 for 1 on the bet and let you pick the top providers.

I have been a Cowboy fan my whole life but after living in Texas for the past 15 years and meeting many of the fans it's quite easy to hate them (not you Smith as you are one of the coolest people I have ever met). Knock yourselves out and call me whatever you want to but they are a semi-pro team at best.

No Capitan. I will not take the bait and drag this thread into the gutter and start trading insults with you or anyone else. This is still a friendly bet. RJ and myself have both done some ribbing to each other but it is not personal. Testy at times but not personal. But I will make 1 comment about your being neutral in all of this... Are you kidding me. LOL.

I am not insulting anybody just stating the obvious that everybody knows and has said.

Jerry Jones general manager = Minimal success.

I am enjoying this way too much. The Lions have never been anything in the NFL and the fact that this is possibly starting to favor them is quite comical. None of them are going to share their riches with us anyway so we can just watch and have fun with it.

In NFL lore there's : the catch, the drive, the fumble and now the overthrow. As I said in another thread, the overthrow to Austin was classic Romo.

This loss was not Romo's fault. When you have a 12 point lead with about 3:30 left on the clock in the 4th quarter, your defense has to protect that lead. I have come to the conclusion that Ryan's defense sucks. And the defensive secondary sucks big time. The Giants are now in the driver's seat for the division title. 2 weeks ago, the Cowboys were but not any more. And yes, the advantage in this bet goes back to RJ.

Nice Guy, you are right about it not being all Romo's fault, the defense should have held, but,,,,,,, a great qb makes that throw in a big game and leads his team to greatness, not relying on his defense to bail him out. If Troy Aikman had botched that throw we would say well it's bound to happen now and then, when Romo makes that throw we just say it's bound to happen.
I'm disgusted, they about lured me back in this last month or so, only to reveal the team they are once again. Yes Capitan, I know it's December . LOL. Damn

It really is too bad that Jerry Jones is such an idiot. There is so much talent there even though much of it is getting old. At least we can sit back watch and bitch about his bad decisions. I wonder how many times he has looked back at the Jimmie Johnson era and said "IF?"

No the blame cannot ALL be laid at Romo's doorstep. But he had an opportunity to cover the mistakes of his defense and he failed to do so. There are a lot of quarterbacks that make that throw.

I go back to one of the earliest posts I made in this thread. You cannot depend on Tony Romo in the clutch. On the contrary, whether its the big fumble against the Jets, 3 second half pick vs the Lions, fumbled snaps on PATs in playoff games or missing a wide open receiver in the most critical game of the season, Romo consistently comes up wanting. Even more disturbing is the fact the Cowboy heirarchy does not see it or chooses to do nothing about it.

Guys, at the end of this bet, if I lose, I will root for the Cowboys to do well in the playoffs and I will be just as disappointed as the rest of you when they do something stupid to blow yet another big game.

That said, this bet is not won or lost by anyone yet. We have certainly gotten a lot of entertainment value from all this back and forth. Capitan I'm glad we are able to keep you amused for the past couple of months. LOL

I haven't had this much fun since I lived in Florida where they had drive up liquor stores that would sell you cups of ice. It is the only way I have survived these last two months in Ghana. Thanks for all the laughs, my ass will be on a KLM Airbus 330 Thursday Night.

The defense makes stops but not when it matters. I think they held the Giants to two field goals in the first quarter. They seem to get worse as the game goes on.
