in reality, there are a number of missed/blown calls in every game.. it is enevitable... there was an obvious hold on Witten shortly after the pass-interference-that-wasn't, that was not called.. regardless of what a team thinks the refs did to cause them to lose, that team can look inward and find many more reasons..

And let's not forget that bullshit 'roughing the kicker' call early on. The replay showed that kicker was never hit, but the call was not reversed. The penalties did not decide the game; the Cowboys just won it. Time for all the drama queens to get over it.
We will have our hands full with Green Bay. Dallas has great depth and can get the win, but they will have to tighten up our lackluster secondary. If our coverage isn't better than it was with Detroit, Rodgers will eat us alive.

It was "running into the kicker" (5 yd penalty) not roughing (although he didn't hit him, you're not allowed to be under the area required by the punter to safely land once he's off the ground in a vulnerable kicking motion).
Either way, he (Watson) took a bad angle or was trying to be a hero and block or deflect the punt when a return was clearly called from the bench.....the fact Detroit was punting from the back of their endzone, Dallas was going to end up with superior field position. Instead, it fueled the Lions drive and they took a 14-0 lead.
"In the day", Jimmy would've made an example of such a bone-headed play and cut the player the following day. I know Garrett wouldn't want that issue to be the local / national narrative this week as they plan their trip to Green Bay, but it could be just the kick in the ass that jettisons the Boys to a championship.

Last year's playoff game, San Fran at Green Bay in early January, temp at kick off was 5 degrees with a Wind Chill of Minus-10. 11 degrees sounds kinda balmy by comparison now, doesn't it?
For the record, 49er QB Kaepernick was the leading rusher in the game that day; running 7 times for 100 yards plus throwing for 200+ yards and a TD......WR Michael Crabtree caught 125 yards on a half-dozen receptions, btw.
PK Phil Dawson chipped in 3 FG's as the Niners won, 23-20.
Keep in mind Rodgers was returning to action for his first game since breaking his collar bone 6+ weeks prior. As of late, he's been nursing a pulled (or partially torn) calf muscle. That said, if the Cowboys are going to win next Sunday they need to contain Lacy, first, while making Rodgers' passing pocket as uncomfortable as possible. Hope this rookie DE Lawrence is ready to ramp it up all day long....we're going to need his fresh legs.

Chataeu, it just seems there's a point where inhaling all that freezing air in your lungs isn't...healthy...kinda like freezing yourself from the inside out, lol.
Hey if it was 55* maybe Kaepernick would have rushed for 200 and thrown for 300...?
Oh well. Those Packer fans are a hearty bunch.

It's always cold as fuck in Green Bay. Can Dallas play in this type of cold?
The 49ers beat the Packers in colder temps up there. That's just to gotdamn cold to be outside much less playing football.
This will be a true test to the Cowboys. Ball handling may be a big issue but I hope they would have it under control. We shall see.......

The 2015 NFL schedule comes out and Bam....less than 24 hours later, Goodell decides that's the right time to (finally) announce his punishment for Greg Hardy.....10 games, no pay. It's a given Hardy's agent will file an appeal and blah, blah, blah it may be reduced or upheld. We shall see.....
(By the way, no sympathy coming in from Philly or New York (giants)....both NFC East foes will have played Dallas home-and-away by Week 9; neither having to game plan for Hardy and his qb-rushing skills).
That said, either way the appeal goes, is it me or is it just coincidence that the first game Hardy can be activated is week 12.....versus his previous team, the Carolina Panthers? No chance in Hades that Goodell had prior knowledge of the schedule, right?.... and that might be a sensational story line for FOX and the NFL to market? (it's the Thanksgiving Day game, by the way, kids....second game of the day after Philly at Detroit's noon kick off). Well, hey, ya gotta give the networks every possible opportunity to sell 30-second commercial slots at a premium, right..?
Look, I know neither Pete Roselle nor Paul Tagliabue were perfect (precious NFL commissioners) but this Roger Goodell guy is coming across as if this job is simply too big for him. He botched the Ray Rice decision as we all know. Then he and the league office "discover" some kind of special program to put Hardy and Adrian Peterson into last year (suspended with pay until the legal system could sort things out).
He makes approx $44 million annually and I still can't figure out how that kind of salary is possible for a guy who does nothing more than make up shit as he goes. Why does he think the correct sentence Hardy serve is a (suspension) of 25 total games; dating back to week two of last year?
Yes, I know there are those that are gonna cat-call that I wouldn't be saying boo about this if Hardy had been signed by any other team than the Cowboys....so be it. I'll accept that. That said, I still find the total games (equivalent to one-and-a-half seasons) somewhat harsh and over-the-top. I'm not advocating domestic violence at all, so don't go there....just looking for a little consistency and common sense from the commish and, as of late, I see little of either.
It's fortunate for Goodell the NFL Draft was moved to Chicago (next week) and not to Big D. It's just a guess but I think the deafening jeers from local attendees might make it near impossible for him to announce the first round's selections.
