Sir, show me where by law, law enforcement officers are required to risk their lives for you, please show me where it states that?

Here ya go, again. With citations and affirmations by the US Supreme Court.

Police have no duty to protect you. Federal court affirms yet again.

I'm sorry soldier boy but I don't bother reading any of your links and I don't believe pretty much anything you say.

I mention Chicago a lot because of the unnecessary violence there every week. A lot of people die there including women and younger people. I'm always amazed the media seldom talks about it....but I know why they don't

He reminds me of the chatrooms in the 90's about which was posted that there were more commercial airline pilots in the chatrooms than the FAA had issued licenses .... and just think of how many pilots were NOT in the chatrooms, because they were screwing REAL flight attendants, who also didn't get into the chatrooms.

And tbone, his credibility is shot. He lied about what the SCOTUS stated. It puts in question all the other BS who put out there ... from all his LE friends and family.

LOL! Oh my Tebow and Allah, please help these people, all they do is deflect deflect deflect.

Unfortunately the links are legit in supporting the claim that the police do not have a duty to protect any individual until, generally speaking, they are in custody and unable to protect themselves.

"The affirmative duty to protect arises not from the State's knowledge of the individual's predicament or from its expressions of intent to help him, but from the limitation which it has imposed on his freedom to act on his own behalf... it is the State's affirmative act of restraining the individual's freedom to act on his own behalf – through incarceration, institutionalization, or other similar restraint of personal liberty – which is the "deprivation of liberty" triggering the protections of the Due Process Clause, not its failure to act to protect his liberty interests against harms inflicted by other means." William Rehnquist - DeShaney vs Winnebago County.

I was already familiar with what was in the links. I just never open them.

It's my personal belief that any man, police officer or not, should have run in there to help in some way.
Hiding outside makes him less of a man.....even if he was told to wait.

Again....that's just my personal belief.

I don't disagree with you. Tbone. I like to think I would have done something at that school too.

I'm just pointing out that a police officer has no duty to protect anyone unless he has them in custody. Everyone needs to understand that and take the steps they are comfortable taking in order to ensure their own safety rather than relying on police who doesn't actually have that duty. That includes arming themselves with knowledge of the law and their rights and responsibilities as well as having hardware and knowing how to use it if they choose.

Now more than ever when police are under a microscope who can blame them for not intervening in many situations? Again, I'm not saying it's right or honorable but when they have these court decisions on their side they have a choice to make. Intervene and risk becoming the goat for doing the "right thing" or stay out of it and go home at night.

Saw this clip today.

Lots of good in it, lots of 'needs improvement'.

Lots of not respecting the law or peoples rights.
(more videos of this in case you want to look)

I applaud their stance to protect their property and face the threat head on.

They do need training, manly in the safety and management of their firearms. However in a stress situation, they probably did the best their level of competence could provide. Even a couple of hours watching some quality youtube content on the procedures would help them.

Not liking them pointing their muzzles in unsafe directions, or the lack of proper weapon management. One would think that a family who lives in such a home would be able to better equip themselves, Both need long guns with pistols holstered. A partial tactical set up is not that expensive. Even body armor should be an easy purchase for them to budget. At least have extra mags, first aid kit, etc. handy if not on your body. He's probably had that old AR for more than 30 years, LOL. Don't mean it's obsolete (got one similar, it'll definitely do the job.), but a more modern iteration would probably be more practical.

They should know better (he is a lawyer) than to point his weapon in such a manner, many might consider that not only unsafe but threatening, and illegal. She needs some serious explaining on her approach as well.
(however it can be said they were facing people committing criminal acts when this was filmed.)

One the whole, they got by. Good job.
