A few weeks ago a half dozen oil company CEO’s were called to Washington to explain why the price at the pump is so high. They all answered the same:

“Each of us on this panel have salaries exceeding 100 million per year. We can afford gas for our cars no matter how much we charge the American public. Right now we have a unique opportunity for our shareholders to earn untold millions of dollars in profits by gouging the American public and that’s what we’re going to do because you can’t stop us”.

That’s utter nonsense. The only true part is that certain oil company executives testified before Congress about the rise in oil prices. It should surprise no one to learn that they denied having anything to do with the increased price of gas at the pump. It’s laughable to suggest that each of the executives would make a statement that is so clearly against their interests.

I have an EV, so not feeling the full impact. The cost of electricity per kw has also increased. So not immune, but less of a hit.

You can make this as political as you want, but as in most political trash spewed around these boards it is complete nonsense.

Blame the free market for the high oil costs, not a politician who has no control over the industries.

Only thing anyone could possible say that’s political and concerns oil investment, is that it has been discouraged since fossil fuels are outdated and not the energy of the future.
Zero percent chance that you really believe that horseshit. Any excuse to pass the buck.

Not if you live in some parts of Georgia. Gas was as low as 4.09 at some pumps on Interstate 95 this past week. Why is that? State fees and taxes?

Yeah it's the same if you head west, parts of Ohio are usually 30-50 cents cheaper. Texas is almost a buck cheaper.
