There was a lot of people wondering why so many were attracted to their ideology, and joining up. Found out ISIS was paying them, they were hiring Mercs.

I was not one of those who were "wondering" ..... slaughtering caged people, women, and children is not an "ideology" that "attracts" unless one already had a propensity to slaughter helpless people. There are anecdotal stories now floating around that some of the "fighters" are defecting. I guess slaughtering helpless people gets boring after awhile. Personally, I wouldn't know. They have been apparently told people in the U.S. are helpless and weak .... They have a tendency to assume the society is consistent with the demeanor of their leader. When the French have more balls than we do, there's trouble ahead. When our President is more concerned about a .00001% drop in the temperature this year than 1,000's of women and children being raped, tortured, and murdered, then discarded like trash in a heap .... there's trouble ahead for us too.

One of their main sources of income, is taxing all the people living in the territory they occupy. Must be liberals. LOL

Yes, there's that, in addition to pirating oil and looting banks in sacked cities like Mosul.

They do things the "La Cosa Nostra way," and amp it up far beyond what others did before. "Nice little business you've got there. You wouldn't want anything unfortunate to happen to it, now, would you?"

Except they make "the mob" look like altar boys by comparison.

ISIS' ill-gotten gains are estimated at less than $2 billion annually. Look how much havoc they've created in the world with that relatively small flow of funds. Now suppose they managed to capture Baghdad - what would that do for their finances? Well, until oil prices dipped Iraq was exporting $90 billion a year. So imagine ISIS with 40 times the budget it has now to underwrite global terrorism.

Does anyone (aside from fools like WTF) seriously think we can just ignore these bastards?

Seems like I've seen numbers something on that order for ISIS. May not be very impressive for a state, but a helluva lot for a terrorist organization with an apocalyptic vision, to be sure. And, yes, it would be an unmitigated disaster if they seized Baghdad. Presumably, they could then enrich themselves sufficiently to make a go at purchasing nukes from the A. Q. Khan group. (I haven't read anything about that bunch lately; are they still out there somewhere?)

Or with that kind of loot, they might even succeed in doing a deal with North Korea.

Yes, let's just stick our heads in the sand and hope for the best!

I don't think anyone who is realistic about the situation is saying we should ignore them, but there needs to be a plausible plan of action as to how we deal with them, not just going in guns blazing. And your statement has a big IF in it when it comes to them capturing Baghdad. A couple of articles, one outlining how just taking control of the city won't be a cakewalk and the other more recent article about how we have basically fought them to a stalemate at this point. They are not gaining control of areas without losing control in others.

Why would you posit such a thing as purchasing nukes and then in the next breath wonder aloud if said group even currently exists?

They will not take Baghdad. Ain't happening. I agree it would be a disaster, but it won't happen.

But, but, but our state department is on record saying that WE ( in the US ) need to fund a jobs program to eliminate the poverty that's driving the young men to be jihadies ! The liberal solution to the problem rears it's head again, throw more taxpayer money at it and hope it goes away ! And with the " success " that odummer had training less than 10 " moderate " muzzies to fight in Syria, that'll be another " shovel-ready " money pit that the lying liberals so love !!

I'm not sure if A. Q. Khan is even still alive. He'd be getting up there in years, to be sure. But I would expect that there may be former associates or remnants of his network that may still be in the game, and would be eager to work a deal with any potential buyer possessing resources in the billion dollar range.

It certainly doesn't seem likely at this point, unless there's some combination of Iraq deteriorating further and ISIS gaining considerable additional wealth and power. But some months back, there were fears that it was a serious risk.

WHEN DO YOU PLAN ON COMING CLEAN ABOUT TEDDY NUGENT AND NUZZLING HIS BALLS, WHILE HE IS A PERVERT DRAFT-DODGING COCKSUCKER, JUST LIKE YOUR BUDDY SLICK WILLY. ARE YOU GOING TO GROW A SET, YOU FUCKING EUNUCH?

JOBLESSNESS IS A PROBLEM OVER THERE, YOU FUCKING IDIOT. THE LESS OF A LIFE YOU HAVE TO LIVE, THE MORE LIKELY THE MODERATES ARE TO GETTING SUCKED INTO THIS JIHADI BULLSHIT. GODDAMMIT YOU ARE DUMB. NO ONE EVER SAID THAT WAS THE ONLY SOLUTION. IT WAS MENTIONED AS PART OF AN OVERARCHING PLAN, BUT YOU FAIL TO MENTION THAT PART BECAUSE IT DOESN'T FIT YOUR LYING REPUBLITARD NARRATIVE.

COME CLEAN, COCKSUCKER.

Something dear to your heart .....

... don't forget the sale of people ... women and children.

And YOUR BOSS funds a task force in this country to free "sex slaves"???

Why isn't Hillary on the front lines of fighting the war on women in Iraq?
