Asians get here through the Visa process, typically.. which means they excel in education or a profession, or they have relatives here who sponsor them, and sign documents swearing they WILL NOT LIVE OFF THE GOVERNMENT TIT. many Asians were enslaved during the Korean War, Vietnam war, WW2, etc., but were able to rise up, become educated, and CREATE for themselves a handsome profession, they often come to America to maximize their wealth and professional experience. that applies to many Europeans as well, you and I both know it is rare for Africans to emigrate to the US, outside of Refugee reasons.. I'll let you contemplate why that is so.

Where I live.. the public school system is pretty garbage. My kids high school is predominantly black.. to the tune of about 98%. He is the token white kid in most of his classes. The school is dumbed down. The assumption is "those kids can't handle real work"... so they don't even bother. Then they go to the local community college and find themselves stuck into all remedial classes.. which impacts their financial aid.. and impacts their ability to finish, ultimately.



Yes, they are responsible for their own success.. but the powers that be also share in the responsibility to not set them up for failure.

I know exactly what you are talking about. I have a friend who went to pretty much an all black high school. Dude could ball and had plenty of scholarship offers. He graduated 3rd in his class of roughly 500 people. He could not meet the minimum requirements of neither the ACT nor the SAT for the NCAA so he had to go the JUCO route for 2 years and then received a D1 scholarship to a good university and received a degree.

He still jokes abought his high school and how he didn't learn shit there because the curriculum was so easy. I can tell he is still a little annoyed though. Because of that high school, it robbed him of 2 years of big time D1 college basketball and he was stuck playing JUCO ball. He's a very smart guy. He could have easily handled a much more advanced curriculum to properly prepare him for the ACT and SAT. Because he is black and the high school is mostly black, they didn't even bother to prepare him for what he needed to know to pass either standardized test.
