In some parts of the world it is. Take Italy for instance it's not uncommon for people to live over a hundred. In fact the average age in Italy is 47 years old. They don't call it the "Old Country" for nothing.

It's normal any where in the world for a person to reach 100 or more. It's just not common in America because of the American diet which is crap and the overall attitude of people in America. You act like it's a travesty for someone to live a long happy life.

it used to be 40 was the current average lifespan before 1900. any person living over 50 years was extremely rare until around 1700s when you start see more people living longer.
