And lots of other people helping. No we’ve broken a lot of records. We’ve broken virtually every record. Because you know, look I only need this space. They need much more room. For basketball, for hockey and all of the sports, they need a lot of room. We don’t need it. We have people in that space. So we break all of these records. Really we do it without like, the musical instruments. This is the only musical: the mouth. And hopefully the brain attached to the mouth. Right? The brain, more important than the mouth, is the brain. The brain is much more important."

Hahaha. I read that quote yesterday, and unfortunately there are hundreds of nonsensical speeches like this from Trump. He goes to these rallies because he is surrounded by followers who tell them how much they love him and everything he does. I am actually not sure if you could write this and have it make less sense.

Over the past couple of years I have seen countless memes posted on websites such as this and posted on Facebook by my friends, mostly Conservative. Almost every meme from any source is anti-Democratic or anti-liberal. Most of them, like the Time meme posted by Ellen, are at the best misleading and at the worst 100% wrong. I remember one meme which compared gun control in Honduras to gun control in Switzerland which was posted by several people but was 100% incorrect. So if you are against "fake news" try comparing the number of political memes out on the internet that are anti-Democratic vs. anti-Republican and factually incorrect.

Wow! There you go again! You asked for examples of fake news by the MSM. I responded with numerous examples, including my own pet peeves. Then you cavalierly dismiss everything by mis-characterizing and minimizing it all as merely a "handful" of errors "over many, many years" - when, in fact, it is evidence of a GROWING and PERVASIVE and SYSTEMIC and DEEP-SEATED and DAILY problem that has severely undermined the public's confidence and trust in our major sources of news.
Fyi, speedy - I've been reading the New York Fucking Times almost every day for over 40 years and have witnessed its decline first-hand. I have friends who have Ivy League graduate degrees in journalism who concur with me. The erosion of journalistic standards of objectivity and integrity over the last 40 years is deeply disturbing and undeniable to everyone except (apparently) you. We can disagree on the causes - the rise of the internet, intensifying competition to "break" stories without corroborating them, dwindling financial resources to hire editors, etc. - but not on the results. FAKE NEWS is everywhere.
Look speedy... here are a few more examples for you to chew on. Just think how much work it must have been for the White House to narrow all of the thousands of candidates for this list down to the "Top Ten" finalists! I was not surprised to see Paul Krugman top the list! He is a political hack and a congenital liar of the first order!

Memes are not journalism. Anyone can create a meme. Like this one lol. Fake news?
Funny how you think (conservative) memes prove how pervasive fake news is while you deny it is even a problem in the (liberal) mainstream media.

I remember thanking you for your pointing out "fake news" sources. We can argue forever as to how important they are in forming one's opinion on Trump.
No, memes are not journalism but they are just as effective, even more so in my opinion, in providing "information" for people to form their viewpoints on various subjects. To be honest, even though I read the newspaper every day and watch the local news, I was unaware of most of the "fake news" items you cited. However, I get memes almost every day over Facebook, this website, and e-mail, almost all bashing the left or praising the right.
Examples -- yesterday a friend on facebook posted an article stating that Trump signed an EO barring undocumented immigrants from receiving welfare. Totally false.
https://www.snopes.com/fact-check/tr...rants-welfare/
Then this morning on my fellow HS classmates, a very loyal Trump supporter, sent out a note to class members containing a supposed letter from a German physician warning people about the horrors of Muslim immigrants. A totally unsubstantiated letter from a person no one can find.
As I said, I believe this dissemination of untrue information is more effective in altering people's beliefs than the "fake news" found occasionally in newspapers and periodicals. To support my belief:
Fake News Memes On Facebook: What Are They?
Gone are the times when memes were just funny images to post in your newsfeed or share with friends. Believe it or not, memes have become a popular method of disseminating false information. These days, memes are widely used as tools of political manipulation.
There are five underlying causes of this phenomenon:
Most people are poor at identifying false images, especially, if they are professionally designed.
Memes are designed to go viral, which makes them a perfect tool for massive (mis)information spreading. Unlike articles or sponsored posts, memes always seem to find their way to slip by.
Memes are easy and quick to make. Especially, compared to articles and video news.
Current fact-checking features and fake-news-identifying algorithms have difficulty processing images.
Memes are jokes; they are not meant to be believed. This makes it hard to control or restrict them from a legal standpoint.
Given all that, it’s clear that memes are the biggest component of the fake news problem.
Despite their entertaining nature, memes make an effective tool for political manipulation. Especially, when targeted at people who lack critical thinking skills and tend to trust information without giving it a second thought. Doesn’t it sound like a dream for a political strategist?

And that is the problem.
Trump has put numerous unqualified people in important positions (not all). He is horribly nepotistic. He has no regard for truth or accuracy. He makes policy decisions based upon the business interests of himself and his family. He condones bigotry and hate.
But you will vote for him even before you know the options, only because of the party affiliation.
If you knew the opponent and evaluated the two to decide Trump is better, I can respect that. Blind support of a seriously flawed candidate because he is (for now) a "Republican" I cannot respect.

Welcome back Old-T.
Yes Ellen is a Trump supporter with blinders on. When one points out the negatives about Trump, no response. When she lists Trump's "accomplishments" and the majority of them are challenged, no response. I respect LustyLad because he has valid reasons for supporting Trump, although I may disagree with them. Ellen has one reason -- he is POSSIBLY helping the military/VA.
