Yssup, You and most of America are missing the forest by focusing on a few trees. How many people die a year from mass shootings perpetrated by white supremacists? Somewhere between 0 and 50? Thirty-seven thousand people a year in the USA die as a result of suicides and homicides committed with guns

Getting a little off topic, maybe 90% of these deaths occur from handguns. This is a much bigger problem than mass shootings committed with semiautomatic weapons. Rifles and shotguns are used for hunting and target practice. Semi-automatic weapons are ideal for a militia, although perhaps you could make the argument that they're not protected by the 2nd amendment unless they're in the hands of members of a well regulated militia. But what about hand guns? They're used primarily to kill people, blacks, whites, Hispanics and Asians alike. If you could sharply reduce availability of hand guns, take them out of the hands of the good guys and the bad guys alike (which admittedly would be very difficult), that's where you could do the most good, without completely trampling over the rights of gun owners.

If you treat gun violence as a public health problem, killing by white supremacists is a rare disease.

My argument is against handguns, not for autoloading firearms. And a "well regulated" militia that's not underground should prefer semi-automatic rifles.

Are you referring to the Minute Men of the Revolutionary War or the Minute Men that were led by a child molester and hunted down illegal immigrants? If so, the number of fatalities inflicted with hand guns by these groups was probably minimal. If you're thinking about the Minutemen of the 1960's, then yes, hand guns are ideal for assassinating Communists.

If you choose to carry your firearms in public, I should have the right to see them and go someplace else. Hand guns are too easily concealed. Also, based on the number of fatalities, hand guns are primarily used for suicide, not self defense. If someone is drunk, high on meth, or just plain depressed, it's a lot easier to blow your brains out with a pistol than a shotgun or a rifle.

Blacks killing blacks, whites killing whites, and Hispanics killing Hispanics with hand guns are significant problems. White supremacists killing blacks and Hispanics with semiautomatic rifles is rare. That was my intended point, and I didn't say it very well the first time.
