Chiming in a bit late but my .02 cents (from personal experience) is that there are men who are broken and sexually fragmented from an early age, that leads to sexual addiction and an EMOTIONAL emptiness that nothing or no one can fill. Porn, escorts, fetishes, and various expressions of sexual deviance are an expression of that emptiness/void that even a sexy and available wife can't satisfy.
As another poster stated, providers have kept many marriages together - those marriages being the ones where it boils down to a horny/unappreciated/disrespected/ignored/bored husband...
Rinse and repeat.
I was talking to a gent today about this very thing. Our statistics weren't entirely accurate but, I told him that ALL my married clients wanted sexual release (1,500 sperm per second?!? No wonder, guys!) BUT!!! 80% of them crave respect, affection, affirmation, to feel like a woman's hero, and to KNOW they could share at least one sexual fantasy without a wife or gf recoiling or shooting him down.
I wish I could tell wives how many husbands long to tell their wives that. It is never a one partner dance

Trust a random person on the internet? Where have you been for the last... you know, since the internet became a thing.
But legally, you are wrong. In the US for example, there are still a few states that have implied consent on the books—notably Southern states—but the vast majority have long done away with such doctrines. Further, implied consent does not mean that someone can legally ignore expressly being told "no."

I am putting something like that in the vows.

Yep...and they have one thing in common here...they're cheating on their wives...

I prefer simplicity to "diversity." And I find the more honesty involved, the more likely that is to happen.

Chiming in late here too.
As an admitted 'woman of loose morals', the marriage of my clients doesn't upset me. Our very temporary relationship is not based on the same thing. I'm a realist. Always have been. And still I'm traditional in my values when it comes to relationships. I attribute my duality in nature to being a Gemini. Let's just leave it there.
As a Humanist, I believe that any attempt to control what a person does with their body is futile. Sex does not equal love, and some people have little motivation to be faithful to anyone. I believe that respect is the biggest gift you can give anyone you love. Respect her enough to use a condom with some random chick; respect her enough to not let her find out what you're doing. Respect her enough not to bring said random chick to your home, or be out uncomfortably late, or communicate with her when your focus is supposed to be on your home life.
As a traditionalist, I believe that marriage is a sacred agreement between two people. Because most marriages are based in pragma (logic), and not in real love, you get infidelity, you get head games, and you get addiction to porn. Of course she or her feelings isn't enough to keep him faithful. They only got married because she got pregnant, or they looked in each other's faces so long it was inevitable (and didn't have any other fish on the line), or he was successful, or someone was good in bed enough to put up with their crap.
Now, I may be a little biased, but where my traditionalist self meets my humanist self is in the unknown. I shouldn't know that you're cheating on me. Cheating with ANYONE gets you axed (literally/not literally) out of my life. But cheating with a woman that you're not paying is worse than a paid companion. Paid companions are not trying to replace me. Even though she says she's cool with being fuck buddies and doesn't require anything of you, the random chick you're fucking's ultimate goal is to show you how happy you are with her and get you to leave.
Multiple long, in-depth conversations with a woman is emotional cheating, in which you mean to replace me. It says that you've found something in her that you don't have with me. Even/especially if you haven't touched her yet. Entertaining these kind of relationship building activities with other women is more dangerous to a relationship than a quick romp with a woman you paid to leave.
Don't get me wrong. Marriage is marriage, and definitely worth respecting. But any situation that is forced is doomed to fail.

Yes it is true....a wife is not suppose to deny her husband. It's written in the same book that promotes the institution of marriage. Read it all the way and you will find it.

Oh. I understand now. You should know that marriage was around long before Christianity, so I hate to break it to you, but that book doesn't have the patent on the civil union. So now you're talking from a religious standpoint, and I will excuse myself from the conversation.

Nah, me thinks peach is correct. Christianity accepts the entire Bible as sacred, not just the New Testament. That means it goes all the way back to the Garden.
