In all probability, the jury reached the right verdict, given the stuff THEY heard. Remember that we TV viewers got to see all the sidebars, and knew about all the evidence that the jury didn't get to hear because it was inadmissible. And the prosecutors fucked up large on a few things, including the gloves. They didn't have to enter them as evidence, and there was even an argument about whether to do it or not, because they'd been sitting in a freezer for over a year, and they knew they'd shrunk. Yeah, OJ could afford arguably one of the best legal teams ever assembled. Meanwhile, the DA's were making about $60k a year. DA's are like teachers. If you paid them what they're worth, you'd retain better ones. But taxpayers don't want to do that.

I can assure you, I'd have hung that jury. The jury wasn't a jury of OJ's peers. Or maybe it was, and they are just as stupid as he is. Real people with real jobs wouldn't have sat that jury because they couldn't afford to.

What about Rodney King. Here's an interesting tidbit. My brother was actually taught at the academy how and why the King beating was not only legal but justifiable. Palllleeeeezzzzzeeee.

Here's a story about justice:

One day my daughter called me and said she'd been in a wreck
in one of the small municipalities here in Houston. When my ex and I arrived the police had already been called and responded. Here's the givens:

  1. There was no damage on either car.
  2. No one was injured.
  3. The officer was Hispanic.
  4. The people accusing my daughter of rear ending them were Hispanic.
  5. There were no other witnesses.
My ex did all the talking since he has duel citizenship and is fluent in Spanish. Everybody was willing to drop the whole thing until they found out that my daughter wasn't my ex's daughter. Further, the cop kept telling them that if he issues a ticket to my daughter I'd have to produce my insurance card.

At this point I hit the video recorder on my phone. Didn't take the video just the audio. Good thing I did. When I kept talking saying there was no wreck, etc the cop told me to shut up or he was taking my daughter to jail. So I shut the fuck up.

I paid a lawyer $1,000 and we went to trial, but only after hearing in vivid, technicolor detail what would happen and how much it would cost if the accused lost the case. We won. Then I complained to Internal Affairs. Nothing happened to the racist, liberty-hatting cop. Tell me where there was anything in this story that even resembles a free criminal justice system.

Why not bring it up?...the person in question respectfully confirmed, although limited for specific reasons, would have still engaged in those activities in which you implied otherwise......but mainly, I can be a lot more hypocritical and unethical than an employee of the cjs which is held to a much higher standard by the general public.....never said I was a saint....your whole argument from the beginning has implied that justice is not for sale except in rare circumstances when in actuality, it's available to anyone who is willing to pay the "premium"....and to answer your other question... Yes, I very much appreciate the crooked individuals that benefitted me...I just don't want to here them whining when one of their deals go sour.

I think not. "payoffs" and "kickbacks" .... "under the table"?

There you go again drawing "assumptions" about people's "associations" ...

"colleagues" ... ? Someone gossiping out of school again?

... you don't like to hear whining about one sour deal ... the whole system stinks?

If the Sheriff is supporting an effort to get rid of certain disgusting elements of our society and protect children ... I support that effort and applaud those helping out. He (the Sheriff) has to work within the cjs to identify and present for prosecution the perpetrators .. it would be disappointing to say the least if those responsible and guilty were able to hire a former ADA, pay a premium to facilitate some "under the table" .... "payoffs" and "kickbacks" ... so the perpetrators could get back to "their thing."

It does appear that most, if not all, of the "high end" (and the wanta-be's) are out of danger and the hobbyists prefering their company for a few more bucks will be also .... while avoiding the "bargains"!

The ADA who received the "payoffs" and "kickbacks" and the former ADA ought to both be disbarred and prosecuted themselves. After the benefactor and payor of the premiums cut a plea deal for some testimony against them .. they could all "vacation" together. I'm one of those "equal protection" kinda guys ... and I think most all of my "colleagues" are also ... with heavy doses of due process.

The "terms" are unimportant .... like calling a "john" a ....... "hobbyist"!

Shall we start calling "providers" ..... "servers"?

It's like some highly gifted, all-knowing, and intellectually superior posters on here (just ask them) perceive that my screen name has something to do with an "automobile" .... rather shallow, materialistic, and superficial wouldn't you agree? Or you using the word "colleagues" ... some suggestive meaning?

But who is gonna prosecute them? The people that they are protecting or the people protecting them?

How about the Feds? The punishment guidelines are beneficial for intolerance.

Lol...like they give a shit...or could justify wasting precious resources on a couple "good ol' boys" cuttin' a side deal or two over brewskis at the local tavern that would ultimately require "proof" or "evidence".

Well ... may be you did "over sell" the "horribly corrupt" concept of the CJS. OK.

How could anyone get twisted about ...

..."a couple "good ol' boys" cuttin' a side deal or two over brewskis at the local tavern"?

Must have been a helluva beer tab at the "local tavern"!

That would have really been interesting to see two "good ol' boys" under the table kicking back and paying each other off to help you out with a bar tab that was more expensive than the attorney fees ... did you get to watch .... or did you just get to hear the blow-by-blow?

Based on the few posts I've seen, it was money well spent to keep you off the witness stand. Whata you think?

In all honesty, I dont know or care to know how "they" take care of things but you obviously take shit way too literally LL....lighten the fuck up once in a while(remember where you are) ......however, the tavern scenario woulda been pretty cool.
