why? because the Republican conservatives could very well mount an independent conservative to run. and given the unlimited PAC money that they can pump into the election, that's not so hard to do. likewise, Bernie Sanders, who has already shown he has a large support base, could easily mount an independent campaign. so, that would be an unprecedented in modern times, FOUR candidates running for President.
